It is the closed season, you're allowed to dream and I even met somebody who had bet money on England for the World Cup. In the same spirit of pure lunacy I'm going for-

1. Hartlepool
2. Southampton
3. Charlton
4. Huddersfield
5. Sheff Wed
6. Swindon
7. Colchester
8. Brentford
9. Peterborough
10. Walsall

As things stand I see no reason whatsoever why next season should be any better than the last. Same players, same manager, same culture. Unless something radically changes then I expect more of the same mediocrity.

I fully expect it to be worse!!! There's no way I can see Pools surviving next season with Turner in charge.
I think they'll be lucky to get more than 2 away wins, and even the 40 point mark may not be attainable with him in charge

I will be astounded if Turner suddenly realises what to do in terms of managing a football team

Did'nt we finish 19th the season before last, pipping Carlisle on goals scored I believe. Although that could mean the dreaded 21st next season.

his luck will run out.... because it has been other teams' failings that have kept Pools up 2 years running. I have been proved correct in that we are heading for nothing but relegation battles with this man in charge, but fair play if you think that makes me wrong!!

I stand by the view that Pools will be in the thick of yet another desperate relegation struggle if he stays in charge

Too early to say.

Will all of you miserable sods be tipping us for relegation if we sign O'Donovan, Healy and Rose? And Brown stays fit all season?

Oh yes, you probably would because you want Turner to fail.

And please don't peddle the claptrap about how you don't want him to fail, because it's obvious that there's quite a few on here who for some reason do. stpid

I want him to fail, simply because he's done such a bad job and should of walked long ago. And he could sign Rooney,Messi and Ronaldo he'd still fail confised confised Because he can't manage therethere therethere

Ripper, speaking for myself, I don't think it matters who is signed, Pools have a habit of taking good players and turning them into uninterested ones. That has to be down to management.

So what would you put all the poor performances down to? In some games they performed very well but in the majority of others they didn't turn up. Obviously I'm speaking from hearsay but hearsay based on a wide concensus of attendees.

Turner is a shite manager - no matter who he signs - the fact is he is rubbish at managing football teams

I've never known a season where I've been to so many games and not seen a single worthwhile attempt on goal (by us) in the full 90 mins...........fact.

But MJ, some of these same players have been good enough to produce it in other seasons and on a regular basis. Ability isn't lost, pace yes but never ability. That only leaves motivation, be it personal or managed. A lack of motovation ultimately means you can't be arsed.

I agree that I don't think our problems are down to a lack of commitment. Although this may have occurred in one or two instances, generally speaking I think our players are committed in their efforts.

I think the problem is more to do with our mental attitude. We don't have the self-belief especially away from home to win games. The team has got into a rut where losing has become the norm and as soon as we concede a goal we become resigned to losing.

The best way to change this situation in my book is to have a regime change. Every now and again you have to have a fresh look at things and bring a new leadership in to shake things up. Otherwise, things will continue to stagnate.
