Was thinking about this myself the other day.

Last time we watched them all in The Woodcutter as it had big screens in both rooms and you could always get a good view however packed it got. But then I lived 5 minutes walk away at the time and it had a brilliant landlord.

Now the nearest pub to me is The White House which I don't think is set up right for watching footie and the cricket club last time I was in only had a relatively little telly that they'd inherited from Noah.

The best pubs for me are The Mill House or The Park, but both are relatively small and I could imagine being a nightmare if they were too packed, so any suggestions will also be gratefully received here too!

Go to the Warrior and the White house is full of idiots pretending to live in West Park and the beer is crap.

What's The Warrior like for watching footie?

It's a good trek from mine so it'd have to be outstanding for me to think about going there to be honest.

It has a big screen in the bar area wouldnt call it outstanding like but you get a fair few in their and everyone is a good laugh.

Found a pub near me (Huntingdon) that does 3-D footy has anyone ever seen it as was wanting to know if its good as this pub it a ruther 10mins walk away

Watched a game in 3D in The Mill House at the back end of last season.

It was OK but not brilliant, it seemed like they were just playing with the technology at the moment and trying to put 3D on a normal kind of telly. I guess it'll get better as they get proper 3D tellys.

Do they still have a big screen in both rooms and if it's busy during the World Cup do you know if they'll be opening both?

Two of England's first games are on a Friday and a Saturday evening, will they have anything on in the lounge to stop them doing this?

I was in the woodcutter a few weeks back (so some rif raff obviously still get in ) I must say I was quite impressed. The new owners seem canny

the last people to run the place used to get involved in all sorts of stuff, as did the bloke who held the lease - not surprised that it went that way. I was just glad to be getting out, I didn't care what they got up to!!!!

Watch England in any pub or Club in Scotland that would create an atmosphere.

The West End Social is canny, beer and lager is canny cheap and they are laying of free grub

Last World Cup we went to the Hartlepool Cricket Club when we played Trinidad & Tobacco. Canny good atmosphere in there.

The Maverick, Chessington Carlsberg is £1.79 a pint throughout the competition

Tech rugby club over on Wiltshire Way is good for watching sport on big screen with good booze and toasties on the go throughout!

Can't wait for the world cup to start me.

I believe Rick (gaffer) is having a raffle the winner gets tops seats in the place (a kind of raised area with an excellent view of the big screen) with all food and drink free during any of the engalnd matches, not a bad idea that !! different raffle for each game i think

I'll be watching it in Barracuda (South African themed bar with a huuuuuuge big screen. its about 30 foot tall!!)

I know the commitee in there are looking at possible ways to get people in. Cheap drink and cheap food seem the obvious ways to do this, but if anyone has any suggestions I'll pass them on...

The most important thing for me is knowing that I can get a seat where I can see the telly. I'd happily pay a cover charge of a pound or two in order to guarantee that if the booze was cheap enough.

There are plenty of seats in there and a big screen - there won't be any cover charge, they just want people in using the place...

Doesn't sound like anywhere is gonna do things a bit different and sell seats to be honest, but like I said what puts me off most places is the idea that it'll be just too busy and you'll not be able to get served or get anywhere with even a half decent view of the screen and then be scratting around 5 minutes before kick off trying to get a taxi somewhere else where there might be a more comfortable spot. The reason that I always particularly liked The Woodcutter was due to the fact that you could pretty much guarantee a decent seat due to the fact that they had the big screen in the bar and in the lounge which meant that it was never too full to make it crap. I don't care for buffet food and I'm not too sensitive on the price of the beer provided that you can actually get served relatively painlessly and be able to see the match.

I overheard someone asking in the Milhouse about this at the last home game. Kinda like a season ticket for the big games of the World Cup where you get first refusal of seats/3d glasses etc Cant remember what the gaffers reaction was though

I've got a 50" TV in me living room but i won't be watching it there
