You would think that given the dire state of a number of EU states at the moment that this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for UKIP to capture votes. What with the Greece bail-out and this promising to spread to Spain, Italy etc they should be flying up in the ratings. If they can't win more votes now then they never will.

Anyway, the party whose policies most agree with my own are still Labour, so they will be getting my vote...

Spain lost its credit rating the other day which sounds like a something and nothing statement. Trouble is that the interest rate on their huge debt has just rocketed along with it. Spain will now be in recession for many years to come as a result. Guess who gets to bail them out (again)

This could be the beginning of the end of the European union as we know it.
It will only take one country to say "Bollocks to bailing them out, we have enough problems of our own to solve."
Anybody any idea who that might be??????

I don't regard myself as a Euro-sceptic but we do have our own problems to deal with. If we are already bailing Greece out and Spain and a few others are also struggling and then they are talking about allowing Turkey to join then we are going to have our already diminishing resources well and truly drained. Not to mention the free-flow of labour across Europe which is impacting on our jobs...

We need to pull up the drawbridge. We have 3 million on the dole and 4 million immigrants over the past five years. Seems a pretty simple solution.

(send the buggers back)

After the Global financial problems of the thirties we ended up with a skirmish or two.
Is it possible it could happen again?????????????

back to back we faced each other
drew our swords and shot each other.

It's entirely possible that there could be a flare up, it is already happening in Greece. Europe has always been a powder-keg which is why the EEC was originally formed - in an effort to bring the nations together. Things have snowballed since then though and become increasingly centralised - it is possible that it could implode if the unrest continues.

They are much more emotional down in the Med

It's too cold and damp in the UK for rioting and to be honest most people are so apathetic in the UK we could be invaded by the Germans tomorrow and no-one would bat an eyelid
