I hear some Labour MPs are asking some Labour voters to vote Lib Dem in order to try to stop the tories from winning.

Do they seriously want this General Election to turn into a farce, after the debates have attracted so much attention? banghead

In Hartlepool Labour will win, no matter how shite they have been, no matter how good the other candidates have been, no matter how shite the candidate is.

Labour know this, the Tories and Lib Dems know this, thats why we don't seem to have the massive campaigning going on in some areas here.

An electoral shock of H'Angus proportions would need to happen for Iain Wrong not to be our MP on Friday morning.

What are the odds on Iain Wright not being our MP by this weekend?

Are they sufficiently long to make it worthwhile placing a substantial wager and then topping the irritating little prick?

You would need to find him 1st Mr Ripper.

2 days before an election and I haven't seen the odious little shit anywhere, mind I haven't seen anybody else either. Not in the posh bits or the scruffy bits of town, lazy barstewards.

A vote for Wright is a vote for right

PS

The Tories have managed to overturn bigger majorities then the one Labour have in Hartlepool, so why can't they manage it here?

Is it because they are shite

Tactical voting has been with us for some time. It's a side effect of the first past the post system.
That's how Liberals normally get most of their votes.
Some Labour voters in strong Tory seats will vote Liberal if the Lib candidate has a chance of keeping the Tory candidate out.
Some Tory voters in Labour strongholds will vote Liberal to try and keep the Labour man out.
It doesn't always happen, but it does go on.
You get MPs voted in with as little as 34% of the vote with 66% not wanting them, but because that 66% is split it allows the 34% man in.
Personally I have never voted tactically but I wouldn't rule out doing it if I thought it would keep someone out that I was totally against.
In Hartlepool for example the anti Labour vote is usually split. If those who want Iain Wright out all joined forces then they would probably get him out under present circumstances, given his unpopularity.
Each voter votes as he or she sees fit.................simple as that.

He was at Pools on Saturday, I saw him at the end in the Mill House stand.

No doubt he attends every game and is a life-long fan like his predecessor was. True 'men of the people' in every respect

Alan Wright has been there plenty of times this season. Actually, the ball hit his wife on the back of the head during the half time interval on Saturday

Fair enough, but Ian Wright has been going for at least a decade, so he is hardly using it to win votes is he?

No, he has been going to 'Pools for at least the past decade, Alan Wright hasn't

Alan Wright was Labour he's now Tory but still cannot overturn a majority of a party which is, going by this board, despised by every man and his dog

next time around he may well be Liberal if he thinks he has a change to get is ugly mug in the Snail

alan wright has been going to pools for 50 years - if people got to the game, supported their club and bought their award winning programme, they would have read interviews this year with mr wright mp, alan wright, and his worship lord drummond. and chip.

I'm good mates with both of Alan Wrights sons. He's been going to Pools for as long as i've known both of them.

Just feel it's only fair to point this out.
