Southampton are reported to be very keen on signing him.

If they got him Southampton would arguably have the strongest strikeforce in the league

Why would it necessarily make him third choice striker?
He's scored 9 in 14 for a struggling side. How many chances would he get at the Saints???? That is the very reason that has generated the interest.
They could always loan one of the strikers out to keep him match fit and recall when necessary.
I would love him to stay, but he'll get more money AND a regular game elsewhere.

Just remember if we manage to stay up, that Sunderland kindly allowed him to come on loan to us in the first place.
