History will be made at Victoria Park this weekend when the first-ever matchday wedding takes place at Hartlepool United.

Kevin Butler and Heather Devine will tie the knot in a service at The Vic prior to the League One game with Colchester United.

The happy couple, who first met in 1992 before beginning a relationship in 2001, will then be introduced to the crowd during half time on Saturday.

Anyone remember that one at Hillsborough, when the bloke proposed at half time and the entire crowd of 26,000 sang 'you don't know what you're doing.....'

Quality, a pearl in a sea of shite in Sheffield.

I was that groom yesterday. Thanks Mr I for that positive contribution. I wish you well too. My fiancee arranged the wedding as a surprise 50th birthday present for me. She hates footy, so bless her.

We, and all the guests, had the most fantastic day imaginable. The facilities, the weather, the result, the evening do were all superb. The club were outstanding in every respect and made the day one for every person there to remember. Special special thanks to Sarah and Nat.

I am very proud of the Club I have supported since 1969. We've been through many strange periods, but I think now have the best squad ever. I know it's frustrating, but when it works like yesterday it's brilliant.

See you all at Walsall next week? I won't be the w@nker in the penguin suit on Saturday, unfortunately. Back to jeans and t-shirt.

Please wish us well.......

sorry if I offended you but personally I don't feel that a football club is a place to get married. Your choice of course but like I said, I don't think its appropriate. Either way congratulations on it all going well.

Hey, Mr NW, saw the pictures in last night's Mail.

Congratulations, she's a bonny looking lass.

Which having seen all of the photos raises the question of how the hell you've managed to pull her?

Thanks for that, Mr R.

I haven't seen the Mail yet as I live in Lancashire now, but I was actually wearing my favourite ugly mask, so as not to outshine the blushing bride...... Are the pics really cheesy?
