My lass is going to Bulgaria to work in an orphanage...

However, Uni says she needs to raise £1000.

Any ideas what she could do to raise a good amount?

Shes got until July to raise this amount.

Thanks

Seriously though, what about a sponsored beach litter pick, there's an article on the bbc news tech site about it reaching crisis levels, particularly plastic, and I walk the dog at Crimma and it's seriously bad there.

Some youngsters I know organised a disco to raise funds for a trip like this. Often you can get someone to rent you a hall pretty cheaply, if they know it's for charity.

Try local Round Table, Rotary, Lions and the business womans organisation, The Soroptomists.

They all run fund raising charity events, generally have around 5k knocking about in a charity account and are anxious to sponsor good causes especially young people doing something unusual and unselfish.

The only condition is that they like to be recognised as being sponsors and your lass might end up with her picture in the paper receiving a cheque off a bloke with a chain around his kneck.

She might also be asked to tell them what the project was like when she gets back.

Often overlooked source of charity funding but definitely worth a try.
