Any idea what Peter Hartley was doing for the third goal last night!?

One of the most bizarre bits of defending I've ever seen!

The clips on the local news were so short it was hard to see what happened with any of the goals.

Hartley needs to be moved from the left back slot immediately.
Its not his preferred position and he's getting worse game by game.

Was he trying to replicate the actions of Sir Ritchie of Eternia?

It was blink and you miss it stuff but with a couple of Sky+ rewinds and pauses you could just about make out the three goals that were shown. I'm not even sure you saw Austin strike the ball for his goal it just flew in the top corner from out of shot!

Tyne Tees actually used to give us better coverage when it came to the goals on the local news.

Someone needs to point out to them a goal isn't just about it hitting the back of the net, it would be nice to see the build up, even for the goals against, so that you have some idea of what happened.

What they generally do in the sports round-up is flit through the goals, then spend 5 mins boring you completely senseless interviewing someone who has won a bronze medal competing in synchronized ferret flogging in the Algarve.

It's the same on Radio Tees, they'll give you a hectic 5 mins at Pools' game, then break off to spend 10 mins at the Marske v Bedlington game, when we all know that the 35 people who attend their home games will either be there or washing the strips and retreiving the balls from the side street after the game.

Someone needs to point out to Turner that playing players out of posistion doesn't work long term especially when they are learning the game and aren't used to having to perform week after week.

my inside source told me at the start of the season that hartley was using the move to pools as a springboard to a club at a higher level    stpid

he may be a half decent centre back at reserve level but at league one level, i'm a better left back.

and yubep agrees.

perhaps i didn't phrase that correctly, monsieur pedant. the insinuation was that he felt he was too good for pools and didn't expect to be here all that long. he may get his wish, but perhaps not in the way he expected.

better ?

shouldnt all our players believe that they are good enough to play for a better team than one struggling to stay in the third division ?

for the record have you ever played left back with sir ritchie playing left midfield in front of you ?

has yubep seen peter hartley play for pools out of interest ?

three things in response

i) bear in mind this was before he'd kicked a ball for us

b) obviously not, but how is it humps' fault that hartley is constantly out of position, and can;t stay on his feet AND consistently gives the ball away aimlessly.

3) yes.
