Jesus Christ, how much of a 6 pointer is it! Looking at the table following tonights results (which typically, couldnt have been worse) we really dont want to be losing this game. THE most important match of the season thus far imo

Surely the players must be 'up' for this game.

Friday night makes it impossible for me to get there, will only be going to orient and brentford now this season as Walsall clashes with a stag do when I'll be in Edinburgh. I might even skip Brentford if we are safe by then......

It requires a lot of effort to go away to watch Pools at the moment, in fact it takes quite a bit to go to home games but it's probably time to put the negativity to one side and get behind the lads and stay in this league....

defeat at Tranmere could tip the confidence of the team past the point of no return so far as away games are concerned. Southampton is a foregone conclusion, even the most optimistic of people know that.
Then the pressure they will be under against Swindon will be too much - in fact nothing less than a win on Friday will now remove that pressure. Even a draw is looking like it would be not enough.

its looking most like a must not lose match.

Even with a defeat though we still have the capability of getting at least 10 more points this season, which could well be enough!

the players should be going out believing they can win every match, they should also realise that if they do get beat, its not the end of the world.

how is it?

If you let your players beat themselves up and let them believe its the end of the world after every defeat, then their confidence would disappear quicker than a pint of lager in the muttley household.

Well people are motivated in different ways, but I would rather be telling them a win is all that matters on Friday end of, we must fight and we know we are better than Tranmere on our day, Turner should be saying forget about the start of the season and last week our season starts now all that has went before we cannot change but we can change our fortunes and its in our own hands.

We will get down to the "its not the end of the world bollocks" if we loose. We should be looking at Tranmere thinking we can do to them what we did against southend and hammer them.

if you bothered to read my post properly in the first place, then you would see i actually said that we should be going into every single match we play believing we can win..

I did read it but saying "we believe we can win every game" and the in the same breath saying "but its alright lads it doesn matter if we dont", is a bit counter productive in my eyes. Its probably this lack of motivation that has got us here in the first place.

nobody said it doesnt matter if we dont win, i said its not the end of the world. There is a clear difference (in my opinion) between the 2, thats obviously where the disagreement stems from.

And yes MJ, you are completely right...

bottom line is... another loss on Friday and the curtains will start to come down over this woeful season
The players will deserve a kicking if they dare lose away again, against a team right down there

Why is there not severe pressure on Turner from the owners?
