...became the first Club in England on Saturday to win a title this year and seal promotion to the Blue Square Premier.

And for so long, it looked as if Dover would win promotion.

Yes, that's right, just outside of Cardiff, as opposed to Newport on the Isle of Wight where my aunt lived for a time.

There's also a video clip on the website of a certain Mr. Len Ashurst leading Newport to the 1979/1980 Division Four Title.

The clip also shows them on their way to winning the Welsh Cup, which meant that they qualified for Europe!!!

Incredible!!!

I once had an excellent bag of chips in Dover, so I am really gutted that the title has been dragged out of their grasp by a bunch of Welshmen in wellies.

a man ran towards me with outstretched arms at Newport railway station last year after the Bristol Rovers match - as it turns out he was making for the bloke stood behind me
I was a bit startled to say the least for a few nano seconds

There are only three reasons to go to Dover: the port, the castle and the Wetherspoons pub.

Well, the only way you can see the cliffs properly is from outside the Harbour wall on the verandah of a cross-Channel ferry.
