To be honest I'm not surprised, the way the Club's been run.

I thought this would happen when they got kicked out of the Conference.

I still think things like this should never happen in this day and age, recession or no recession.

It's just a case now of how long it takes for them to come back, work their way through the Leagues again, or if they become like Boston and Maidstone and hang around non-league football for a few years.

If Turner and IOR hadn't managed to turn this Club around the way they did eleven years ago, it could have so easily been us getting wound up today.

Thank God for IOR and Turner. I know we moan about them sometimes, but things like this make us appreciate what we have.

This is happening every week in non league football up and down the country, to clubs much better ran but with alot less resources than Chester.

The only sympathy I have is for the fans who stayed 'til the end.

Harsh I know but i'd like to see a dozen premier league and football league clubs go out of business. It's the only way any sense can be driven home.

No the first thank god, should go to the Late Harold Hornsey, without him Pools would have gone belly up, IOR would not have bought the club from him if he hadn't turned it around.

So it's god bless HH

And a stadium that goes down in HUFC history. The only place a Pools player has scored a "golden goal" winner, Stuart Brightwell 1998, in the football league trophy or whatever it was called then.

Well, yes, I was too young when Harold Hornsey was Chairman.

The first ever 'Pools game that I went to was Gillingham away (0-0) on the first day of 1994/1995 and then it's a bit hazy until losing 5-0 away at Brighton on Fans United Day (otherwise known in our house as Hartlepool United vs. The Rest of the World), and then it's hazy again until Barnet away (won 2-0) in 1998.

Thank God for him saving the Club.

But thank God also for IOR and Turner for revolutionizing the Club.

Isn't the figure something like £30K they owed?

That's nothing to a PL club or even a PL footballer.

Interesting that their council own the ground and sound like they are protecting it as a football club venue.

The pair have caused a revolt occasionally, and some fans ARE revolting, but revolutionising the club's going a bit far.

On the upside we'll probably never visit the Deva Stadium again!

The worst ever new ground apart from the Echo Chamber?

Nah! I think "revolutionising" is a fair and accurate description of IOR's tenure.

Taking nothing away from Sir Harold who saved us, the diference in the club between the fat controllers HUFC and todays is like Dock Rock and Glastonbury.

Chester's supporters trust are seriously considering joining the League of Wales apparently

I was at that match Bob, the strangest feeling I've ever had watching football when the game stopped following the goal - that's it - everyone go home!!!!

Me to, won £40 on a bandit in Ye Olde Durhams, So went with Harnish. Think there was about 30-35 of us. Was funny feeling when goal went in, though didn't walk straight out did celebrate a little.

Funny old ground, Chester's that is, the ground and stands are in Wales but the offices in England. (may be other way round)

One of our memory's playing up mate. I'm virtually certain there was only me and Ron in his car, but hey it is 12 years ago. Can't check with Ron for bit he's in China with his Mrs for a month long holiday.

I remember the game at the Deva when we lost 1-0 to a Stuart Rimmer pen & missed one ourselves.
It was during our record breaking run of not scoring. banghead banghead
Seem to recall Lenny Johnrose also hitting the bar from about two yards out.

Some vague memories of Pools at Sealand Rd too.

Chester City R.I.P -125 years of footy.

Let's hope no other clubs end up following their sad demise.

One fo the funniest ever shouts from a Pools fan came at the Deva stadium.

Their keeper was called Brown and he wore the Number 1 on his shirt.

When the play was at the otehr end of the pitch and he was standing with his back to the away end, someone shouted up,

" Hoy, Keeper! Do you realise your shirt says, BROWN EYE?"

The whole away end were in fits of laughter for ages. Quality! rolfl

Defo Chester. And you and Paul Mullen spoke about dodgy music all the way there and back. Very dull.
It wasn't one of Pauline's buses, it was Harnish who arranged it.
