The statistics are fascinating. We've lost twice as many from winning positions than anyone else in our league. For all those who have started having a go at Turner, note that the 3 clubs who have conceded the least points from a winning position are all below us in the table.

Hence these stats can be interpreted in numerous ways

1) The manager gets it tactically correct at the start of the match
2) The players lack confidence as not only do we go onto concede one (and get a draw) but we go on to concede more than one and lose the match
3) We change our tactics (consciously or sub-consciously) when going ahead, resulting in a change of momentum in the game
4) The opposition work us out the longer the games go on.
5) Our fitness is poor and we tire late in games
6) We go out to attack teams from the outset and not just sit back and play for a point

Obviously the potential conclusions I came to may not be valid but I hope the management team use this data to try and help us improve our points haul.

If we had held on to them 26 points we would be 3rd in the league. banghead

Lost 8 games from a winning position. Twice as many as the next worst.

I think the main problem is a lack of self-belief. I'm not really into slagging CT off but thats where the Manager comes in....

They must be starting the match with self belief as we seem to be taking the lead on a frequent basis. The problem is that the belief starts to evaporate as the match goes on.

or maybe that most of those games are before we signed Joe Gamble and we just had a piss-weak midfield?

What's happening is that the the opposition don't expect a performance from Pools, Pools score first and then the opposition step up a gear.
