I think this is our 7th release in all, but certainly the one I'm most proud of.
I always wanted to be on a proper record and now I am.

Had to dash from E.M. school Rock Night on Tuesday to the match as my son was playing bass in a four piece. Anyways they only played one song, but showed promise. He flattly refuses to take any lessons (preferring the self taught route), but prefers to play lead, do you think thats a wise course to take?

Phils right, a singing bass player is a real bonus to any band, and very hard to do.
I've just started to do backing vocals whilst drumming - and that boxes my brain!

Depends really! Bass Playing is easy to be half-decent at, but difficult to be brilliant at.

Lead Guitar is difficult full-stop!

Put it this way, I have limited talent as a Musician but managed to play competent Bass in a few bands over the years..I can play Guitar a bit too but wouldn't cut it in a band.

So my answer would be..stick with the Bass until good enough on Lead to cut it. :grin:

I'd think if they're playing green day type stuff then they wouldn't need a lead player in the traditional sense.

I've played with some amazing guitarists who haven't had lessons - including ours, but its always still a tad cack handed.
lessons would straighten that out no bother.

Same for bass players [our current one isn't very good though...], mind I'm not a great drummer....a band tends to be the sum of its parts though, and it all hangs on how good the song writing is.

It's the first time they'd played together, other than rehersing at school, and a female drummer as well, which is'nt the norm I guess.
