Judgement is reserved for me but a very good performance.
Uncle Ken was there tonight, i'm sure he'll be happy with what he saw.

I wonder what he made of the attendance considering there was 350 from Carlisle.

Not going to be negative after that performance though. How did Boydy/O'donovan and Brown/O'donovan link up?

We played well tonight Jones made all the difference, Austin had another great game too, Boyd was crap. Who knows it may be a one off, it may be the turning point, we will have to wait and see, but WELL DONE LADS

Will he want to sign it though?

Do we know if he is happy playing right wing?

boyd was crap? Funny old game innit? I thought some of his play was superb at times and thought a mobile centre forward helped him loads.

Opinions eh?

I had a feeling we would win tonight. It happens when the pressure is truly on.

Turner IS the wrong man for the job. One result doesnt change that. I would guess nobody on here is fickle enough to think otherwise but there again...

A VITAL VITAL VITAL win tonight. I must say carlisle were poor. Going forward they posed a threat but defensively they were very poor. Their keeper rolfl rolfl rolfl

Our defence was dodgy again especially the opening 20-30 minutes where to be truthful we could have been a couple of goals down but credit to the lads, they kept at it and has been said elsewhere JOnes and Gamble were outstanding. Sweens played well too. As MrB said, the extra pace in our side means we can battle much better and we harried Carlisle all night long. The midfield won us the 3 points tonight (oh and their keeper too! )

their keeper was terrible wasn't he

I can't believe its took Turner so long to realise that with 3 or 4 attacking players with pace, we can rip the fook out of teams. Boydy was relishing it as was Gamble.

Fook me even Humphreys looked good when he came on

Finally playing to full potential imho - one game against a struggling team on the night but it proves we've got the players to do well in this division. the closing down was relentless, playing like they actually wanted it for once. even Boydy looked in that mood that we haven't seen for ages where he'll try the ridiculous and it'd come off - even despite falling over the ball half the time he got it - Gamble is the division's Roy Keane, no less, and with the right decisions from above we will be top half material, like we were 5 years ago. the right decisions will obviously be not to continue what's been going on for the last year or more. good bye.

to be fair chris, we had the makings of a decent side when wilson was here.

the problem was that we replaced him with a duff manager then gave him a shedload of money to man wee on dross.

this team :

flinders

austin hartley liddle decent left back
jones sweeney gamble monky
boyd brown

looks pretty good.

bring in a good keeper to provide competition, a good left back, and a good striker, and would they be any worse than the likes of millwall/huddersfield/swindon etc ?

especially with a manager who knew what he was doing.

That team cries inconsistency to me. For different reasons; Flinders, Hartley , Jones, Sweeney, Monkhouse, Boyd and Brown have all failed to turn up consistently for a long period of time. Why do you suddenly think they're going to start fulfilling their potential every week? Something would have to massive change in that team for it to push us to the top half of the table IMO, bringing in a left back, Browny's return and putting Hartley at centre back (a position most of us have never seen him play before) would have a minimal impact.

Well Humphreys did actually play tonight in his proper position (left midfield) for the first time since the mid seventies.

Now I know I know f*** all about football.

I have to be up there with the Boyd knockers over recent weeks, probably number 1. But that statement is the biggest load of B***S*** I have ever read anywhere. The ball was sticking to his feet and I was astonished when he was replaced.

If the majority of people who were there tonight believe that then I am never going to watch a football match again. In fact I will take up F****** knitting.

Don't worry Bob, you don't have to take up knitting, Boyd was not crap tonight, with a little luck he could certainly have scored, and set up a goal or two as well.

there was one ball he played blind in the 2nd half across the edge of the Carlisle box to Jonesy which was top, top class. Absolutely genius at times. Really looked like he enjoyed everybody else doing the running. He even chased quite a few balls down himself

I also agree with Chip, and previous posts by me will back it up, get Jones signed ASAP.

If we lose him to a championship side I will wish him well If we lose him to a team in our division next season (hopefully League 1). I will do time.

He is a premiership player in the making in a couple of years.
