Its a load of rubbish but the Mrs kicks off if I dont take her for a meal or summat.

I suggested sending her an email saying happy valentines day etc blah blah instead of a card (to help save the planet!!  )

She wouldnt have it!

Valentines Day, invented by the Card, flower and chocolate industry to fill the void after Xmas.

i have always refused to even acknowledge the existence of valentines day. indeed when i went to school you would get filled in for that sort of puffs carry on.

if a lass doesn't like it then there's plenty more fish in the sea.

hth u mugs.

100% correct and bollocks to any split arris who doesn't like it!! They complain blokes don't behave like blokes, then they complain when blokes behave too much like wimps as well sctatchinghead

It's just some shite invented in the States and named after an American actor. The one here is much more of a quality legend and you don't have to outdo your missus's mates in how lavish your gift is to avoid tongue and cold shoulder for dinner.

Used to be fantastic sitting in an office full of women on Valentines Day.

10.30 - Delivery boy delivers a bunch of flowers to a blushing giggling bint.
10.45 - Delivery boy delivers a bunch of lowers and a box of chocolates to a blushing giggly bint. Frist bint glowers and hisses into the phone.
11.00 - Delivery boy delivers a bunch of flowers, a box of chocolates and a balloon with 'sweetie-pie' written on it to a third giggly blushing bint. Birds one and two glower and go to the toilet ignoring bint 3.
11.15 Delivery boy delivers a bunch of flowers, a box of chocolates, a balloon and a teddy bear to a blushing giggly bint. Bint three joins the other two in the toilets.
11.30 Delivery boy delivers a bunch of flowers a box of chocolates, a balloon, a teddy bear and a big badge with 'sex kitten' written on it. Bints, one two and three return from the toilet to be replaced by bint four and everyone ignores bint 5.
11.45 Delivery boy delivers a bunch of flowers, a box of chocolates, a balloon, a teddy bear, a badge with 'best Mum' written on it and a big pink greetings card. Bint five eats her chocolates for comfort whilst sobbing down the phone to her mam, and bints 1-4 synchronise their periods.
12.00 - Bints 1-5 go home and start to pack for returning to their mothers only pausing to cut one leg out of all his trousers, pour bleach into all his shoes, dye all his shirts pink, cut his socks in half, take custody of his kids and cut him off all the wedding photos.

You could set your clock by it.

Let's look at it this way, realistically, if you're gonna be 'romantic', what's more pathetic than doing it on the date you're ordered to just like everyone else. It portrays you as a complete and utter gormless tvvat who has to be told when to be 'romantic'... and says even less for the sort of lass who falls for the sort of bloke who complies.

Here's one lady who may not be getting a Valentine's Day surprise. Not one she wants anyway.

Organise a conference call and we'll all tell her to feck off. That way she'll know you've really thought about it, and made the effort. Beats flowers every time when 197 of your beery mates shout 'feck off' down the phone.

Your wood won't be dry for weeks. clappp clappp
