Alright chaps,

Off to Amsterdam over Easter weekend and need to find some reasonable lodgings as close to Lange Leidsedwaarstraat as possible, apparently it's right near the main square (I've never been over before!)

Do any of you fine fellas know anywhere? I know a good few of you have been on the Holland tours before...

I not sure where that is but if it's near the red light district you really cant do better than here

It does of course depend on how many are going but you can get an apartment that sleeps 5, and if some happy to sleep on sofa's then as long as only 5 you turn up originally to book in you can sneak extra couple in no problem. Or take couple blow up beds there is ample space to put up. You just have make sure they don't notice there more than is booked for the apartment or just book a couple of them. there a kitchen to cook and a supermarket( corner shop) just round corner were can buy your breakfast stuff, a pub next door which we got a lock in at last time we were there for Pools tour, just make sure your in it before they close or wont get in. Takeaway just over road as well.

And you can see your first girl in a window within 30 seconds of leaving the front door.

I've heard the area around the Old Church is quite good for places to stay.

Do NOT book the Hotel Y Boulevard.

Went a couple of months ago, room broken into within 2 hours of checking in. Clothes and all my money for the weekend taken. Inside job. Shit hole anyway.

alright mate.

what's at Lange Leidsedwaarstraat, like? lookin on a map it's about 20 minutes walk from the main (Dam) square, and about half an hour from Centraal station which is like the main hub.

There is a square closer though, Rembrandtsplein, which has some of the best nightclubs. Look for the Rembrandt Square Hotel, or appartments - they are cheap and decent as long as you don't mind deafening trance and euro-cheese til about 3am, as it's right above the 'Smokey' coffee shop which turns into a night club at night. Other than that, I don't know - I've always gravitated there or just slept in gutters :-o
