I said a few weeks ago... you just know who'll re-sign Michael Nelson when Norwich scatter him.... and it will be the usual "It's like coming home and I can't wait to get started etc etc blah..." you read it here first.
Another one of the golden boys who will be welcomed back with open arms as if he's said nowt against the club
I still remember Turner's sniping when Pools knocked Sheff Wed out of the League Cup - you know, that thing that Hartlepool can't do to a big club.. beat one!!.

"I think Grant Holt is a fantastic centre-forward. I signed him for Sheffield Wednesday, he came from non-league. He's a powerful, strong boy and he's a player who is very difficult to handle. But Norwich being Norwich, they've got other players there who can cause problems as they have done in his absence before."

He wet his pants there i think.

I don't want to appear contradictory here, but I was only watching the "Best Yet" DvD last night. Chris Turner says (paraphrasing but it's certainly VERY similar...)

"It was bound to happen, written before it started. A so-called smaller club like Hartlepool comes to a seemingly Big Club like Sheffield Wednesday and does them over. I wouldn't care but the Keeper who made the saves is a lad who I gave his first professional contract to"

it was his comments on the Sheffield Wednesday World that I was referring to. The Pools dvd obviously doesn't show that. He was VERY condescending to Pools. I haven't forgotten that

He admitted that whilst playing for us in his last year he wasnt really bothered, and his head was elsewhere, thats the comment which i think lost him the most respect.

And yes he got his head turned for a little bit in about 2004, and acted like an arse for a couple of weeks. I got over it, and it didn't stop him playing very well for us for another few years.

He had more cack games for us than good ones, especially in the later years of his time here.

Handling the ball outside the area against Wet Sham, the ref giving a penalty, and Nelson not bothering to protest says it all about his attitude at the end of his time here for me.
