I have said on numerous occasions that I won't go down the line of calling Turner, I respect what he did first time round far to much to go down that line. I don't dislike the man, but at the moment I believe more strongly than I did in December last year that he's not the man to take us forward.

I wonder if there is more to it than just the manager (or DoS if you like).

Look at Danny Wilson. It was right that he was sacked but look at Swindon now.

I thought that it was Turner who said that this squad should be challenging at the top before Christmas? Seems to have changed his tune a bit. stpid

Does Turner seriously think he can live on past glory (for what it was)? He should know the old cliche that you're only as good as your next game.

His comments about the quality of the clubs we're up against beggar belief.

We've never had to play clubs of this quality week in week out? What complete tosh! Leeds, Charlton, Southampton and Norwich perhaps but all the other clubs are teams that we have played countless times.

no i didn't mean the Leeds game, i don't even know why i suggested it. I just think there are LOADS of people on here who are very unhappy with the way things are going. Most of the die hards won't stop going on a permanent basis. But a one off match, as a protest, would surely make the fans anger clear?

judging by this and what the crowds will be after the Leeds Hudds and Carlisle games (when we start playing little teams again from the south) - I would say he has virtually zero support from the fanbase.
That's time up under normal circumstances for any manager
Sadly there are no normal circumstances at Pools and they don't give a shit about the fans.
They will look after their golden boys first and foremost and fu-ck the rest of us.

March 6th will be far too late for a new manager to turn it around, and save the club from relegation IMO

Sadly concurring.

By that time the transfer deadline will be almost on us and a new guy wouldn't even be able to bring in loan players.

Where was it that I read that Hovercraft stated that lessons had been learned from the debacle that was the Martin Scott season? Even the chairman lies. Clearly lessons haven't been learned and things are as bad if not worse?

I can only assume that IOR isn't ran the same way? (in the non footballing sense).

Actually, does the chairman actually attend that many games? Under Wilson we had CT reporting back to him about how bad we were.......who is doing the same now? Nobody.

I love this football club and I have done for 25+ years. I have supported in times of utter desperation and at least back then we could claim that we had NO MONEY AT ALL, which we didn't and average players at best, which we did.

I have NEVER not supported my team, thought about not attending games or lost the faith. Pools have always been my team and I have always believed that when things were looking bad we could get out of it. Chris Turner, his "tactics", his comments, his substitutions, his formations (4-5-1 at home against Gillingham??), his stubborn minded constant picking of his favourites who are clearly not up to this league anymore have left me right on the edge.

For the first time ever I don't feel like attending games, expect to get beat every week (regardless of which team "little plucky Pools" are playing this week) and have a massive sense of apathy toward it.

It breaks my heart.

Is it not a case of football killing itself? Over priced admission fees, over paid players, shite officials/players/rules and too much football on telly?

When teams get in a rut its getting easier, or at least theres more excuses, to turn your back on your team these days than it was years ago.

i strongly agree with you there. its only going to take a big club like manure or chelski to go bust for people to realise they cant keep giving money to players/manager/coaches in rediculous amounts. wayne rooney on 150k a week? thats just daft! is he seriously worth that? doctors dont even get that A YEAR! so as my fellow football supporter said, i think too that football is killing itself.

Just read his comments and I couldn't believe them. Turner has to leave now. The thing that annoys me most about him is not his comments (even though they are ridiculous) it's the fact that you know certain players, who clearly haven't got it, are guaranteed a starting place every week.

I'll still go all the time, it's my team and I'll support the players, but where Pools are heading is worrying me.. sadx

Pennies dropped I've just realised that Turner is'nt to blame for all this mess it's me, a fan. It is'nt he who has to motivate and encourage the players it's me. What I should have been doing is shouting encouraging words to the players who are clearly not performing, picking only the players I think can obtain the results I require, and preparing well for games by utilising my scouting network, training and tactical nous.

Boy have I really let the side down. My need to ensure that any future players I persue dont read the News of the World is paramount.I would'nt want players being put off by the fact we are bottom of the League 1 crowd table. The guilt I feel is terrible.

What I should be doing is applauding the players off the field after another turgid performance, regardless of the stare of fellow fan's who think i've lost a tile or two, because I should know we'll be up there at the end of the season, with as we all know a late surge into a play-off place.

To think I was becoming blinkered with thoughts that I might be left supporting a bottom four team come the end of the season. How foolish could I be. After all I'm paying for the privilage, it's not as if I'm being paid like some of the unfortunates.

Anything else Chris you'd like to delegate in my general direction?..............

I absolutely appreciate what CT has done in the past, but we are in the present now and in the shit. If it's not the personnel what is it? Staggered

I like an old Bond fillum, the sort set in an old volcano, where the inscrutable and unfathomable Blofeld always had a trusted lieutenant, who could be relied upon to do any job asked. He was always there in the background, no matter what, the enforcer lurking as a 'presence' to keep his boss informed of every development, his 'eyes and ears' so to speak and in return, Blofeld always knew he could rely on him ....Odd Job wasn't it?
Oops, I meant to post this on another topic.

We haven't had to compete with quality opposition? Birmingham, Stoke, Fulham, Bolton, Hull and Wigan are all now in the Premier league, West Brom, Bradford and Reading have been there since and a few more are now decent championship sides.

Turner talks about the quality of teams in L1 but I'd like to think we are in the same bracket as Swindon & Colchester who are both in the play-off positions and don't seem to be bothered about the "big clubs".

i was thinking the same Snowy. What has a league table from nearly 20 year ago got to do with anything?

I thought the point he was making was that when Pools were in a division with quality teams that eventually ended up in the premiership they were able to compete whereas Chris Turner is currently talking up teams with less potential.

However there's also a few clubs in there that were thriving and are now virtually defunct so it could've been swings and roundabouts.

The point is that Turner says we've never had to compete with good opposition, in that season we finished 11th, just wanted to show an example of how much shite he's talking
