Well, where does one start to look at last nights game?

Do you look at the fact that we had a lot of the ball and failed to score more than once in a postive light.

Or you do you say that we had loads of ball and several chances but no real cutting edge.

Now, i don't claim to be a footballing coach guru such as some members on here, but hey I know me onions and to me a 4-5-1 (well 4-4-1-1 as we seemed to play) is only going to work if your sole forward is a touch and go man. Last night Behan not only did very little touch and go, but was also dropping deep in to the five man midfield for the ball and then we have no product up front.

I'd go for 3-5-2(home)/4-1-3-2(away). Haven't fully thought my line up (due to which player to play where and what I will demand of him) and tactics out yet though and pretty busy so will have to address it later. But thats my formation. Has worked well for the club in the past too.

I will solve all the problems in a simple post on a thread on a message board. The future of football is waiting with bated breath.

right then

flinders (good start)

collins
liddle
hartley

austin
jones
gamble
rowell
monkhouse

boyd
larkin or the boy gruelich

I'd love to see a 3-5-2 at home
three reaosnably solid centre halves
austin up and down, jones for pace (and he has it spades) gamble for resolve, rowell for the passing, monkhouse for the wing play

boyd up front - natural goalscorer - even if not up to speed at the moment - looked lively last night.

as browny waits in the wings, i'd like to see larkin up there - nippy, could cause problems. or even the boy gruelich, again nippy, big lad and needs a crack i think.

anyone?

You have done something which is way beyond Turner at times and that is justify your selection.

The problem we have is that Turner has signed way too many average players, the way forward for pools would be to have 12-13 quality players and back that up with young players and loan deals rather than sign average player after average player.
