 Post subject: 4-5-1 at home?

Are we really going to play one up front against a team who have taken two away points all season?? That is what Turner is hinting at and the way he has gone about our performance on Saturday you can't see him leaving anyone out.

It might work, we have certainly been weak in midfield for while but isn't that more down to personnel than formation? It's a risk if Turner goes for it as we've tried away twice and lost both games, at home the onus isn't really on us to break up play and frustrate the opposition, Leeds maybe but Gillingham?? This from a bloke who said 'tactics don't matter' a few weeks ago.

Surely we’ve got to be a bit more positive? Before the MK Dons debacle our home form has been steady enough, in terms of results anyway.

4-5-1 doesnt have to be as negative a formation as it sounds....if it is set up right!

But the forward playing in it has scored only five all season (three in open play) and three of the five midfielders haven't scored this season, the other has only scored once.

Teams can play it at the top level as the players are so versatile, you see the likes of man u, chelsea and arsenal pretty much play this every week, were not blessed with giggs, ji sung park, malouda, joe cole etc etc to support the front man, i'm not so sure it will work at our level.

Got to give it a chance though and at least he's trying to change things about.

Hmmm at least he is trying something different but if it goes tits up and we lose, it will be even less pretty than if we played 442.
