that some people, when they first start out in football management, can perform brilliantly, yet the more they go on the worse they get?

Maybe the opposition susses their tactics, maybe their naivety works in their favour for a while with tactics, training methods, formations until the players themselves see through it all. And maybe they themselves lose confidence in their own ability.
It’s interesting that Neale Cooper has not had any success since leaving and I’m hard pressed to think of any ex managers who have gone on to better things.

It's not difficult to suss Turners tactics cos' basically he has'nt got any.
