So people going for a walk around the marina should have to pay to park their car?

Or people popping into the chippy to get their feed?

Or calling into the newsagent to get a paper?

Taking things to the logical conclusion that you are advocating in treating everywhere equally why not just put parking meters on every street in Hartlepool, so that if you're not parked on your own driveway you have to pay to park? That won't happen cos it's a silly idea, but having to pay to park down at the marina (unless they're giving the first hour free) is equally silly and WILL see income drop at the businesses down there and WILL see some of them close.

We have a council complaining that not enough people use the town centres......yet the charge you for the privilage of driving there. The shops are shite, and you can park at the metro centre and teesside park for free. Errrr..... its not rocket science now is it?

Supermarkets pull out of town centres and go elsewhere with huge free car parks. Why?

Well how many people are going to get the bus to the town and do their weekly shop and cart all of the bags back onto the bus.far too many and they take fooking ages getting on and off you would be very surprised actually how many do

There are some seriously thick fookers about in these councils.

but the ordinary staff have to pay which is why at 7am every day the council staff are parking anywhere that is free like the lavel crossing at the bottom of church street, mainsforth terrace opposite camerons holdings, the waste land next to the odeon and the road outside kfc/vue cinema

These parking fines which are issued by private car parking enforcement companies are not worth the paper they are wrote on.

easy option park on the road near the salt works which is about 20 yards away from marina for free.

What about people that work at garlands and the like will they get a special badge.

but if the council havent adopted navigation point and it is still the property of mandale properties and the sineage is correct then i am sure this is not the case.
the area over your side of the water has been adopted by the council so think it may be different

Yes.

It'll say, "I'm A Garlands Mong" on it and they'll have to wear it 24 hours a day.

Thats not true Mutters! Spaces for council employees to park while at work come directly out of their paypackets (rather than shovelling coins into a meter). Since there is not enough spaces some employees have to pay to use the mill house car park just like everyone else.

But please dont let this in any way dissuade everyone from becoming another council bashing thread

that's what I meant. they pay too, it just comes directly out of paypackets rather than shoving coins in a machine.

So basically people are not going to be allowed to park for free near fatsoes and lotus garden etc, but are going to be able to near garlands. sctatchinghead

I still say my idea is best park on the road thats what your car tax is for
