Exact same run of 4 away games prior to the game being postponed on Saturday, so why the

Irrelevant. It is absolutely impossible to arrange everything required to sort a one night stop in London next Tuesday so no-one will be going anyway.

It's not ludicrously short notice perchance?

some people just like to have a pop at Pools for any reason don' t they?

The game is next Tuesday, get over it. I'm sure more than just HUFC's input is required when rearranging fixtures.

Honestly, if its not the manager, then its the team, if its not the team its the commercial dept, or the ticket office or the shop or the catering people who buy the wrong pies........

Why do some people bother?

I'm utterly staggered that people would have so much trouble getting a days holiday for a midweek shift, in the middle of January, when the schools are in and you give a weeks notice. I'd have thought places would be begging for people to be off to waste their leave? sctatchinghead

I can see peoples reasoning for having a "pop" as you put it.

Take me for example tickets purchased in advance for original game on trains ( £29) hotel paid for, only a family. room at a travel lodge (£5), Not reimbursable so I either go to London for day or write off £34

Now 10 days later if I want to watch the game

I have to pay £62:10 on grand central (I cant find cheaper some may)

Hotel for night

£25 to watch game (yes I would have paid it on Saturday)

£5:20 tube connection (twice need return)

Train again from probably London Bridge to South London (twice need return) Somewhere in region of £10-£15 one way I reckon.

Food and drink.

Now add that to money possible lost by some on Saturday and your asking fans to pay twice in a fortnight for the same game , a later date could have spread the cost to anyone who lost money on Saturday. So going on Tuesday could cost something like £180-£200 That could be reduced if game played at later stage in season by advance tickets being available.

It's not having a "pop" it's reasons points that as fans most think they're entitle to ask off Pools', Charlton and possibly the Football League.

I have emailed Pools asking for an explanation/ reasons behind the quickly re-arranged game. I also thought we re arranged the Oldham game a little to quickly as well (just my opinion)

To re-iterate Bobs point,
3 months ago I booked train tickets for the Charlton game,£45 return for myself & the same for Mrs G plus £30 for a travelodge room.Thats £120 to go to the game, plus the cost of food, drink & travel around London makes an extra £150,making a grand total of £270.
A quick glance at trains & travelodges tells me to do it again next week will cost around £120 for myself plust the expense of food, drink & travel around London.
Im afraid I cant spend cash like that twice in less than two weeks to go to a game that was postponed due to non existent snow in the first place.

This is not having a go at Pools,or whinging, its simply pointing out that the re-arranged date is a crap date for the fans.

Why do people chunter on about the cost of travel around Lonon?

Buy a day travel card for £6, gets you on trains, tubes and buses all day without spending a fortune on each journey.

The way your going on dibble is like we've never had an all ticket game before.

After last years incidents im sure you can see that this game had to be all ticket.

Pools fans have turned up before to all ticket games i really dont see the problem with this one.

Errrrrrr I was merely pointing out that fans need to buy tickets for this game now, or risk missing out close to the game.

And as its January and we already have two rearranged games between now and the end of Jan then its financially difficult.

Suely even you can understand that?

Financially difficult yes, physically impossible no. It's still £20 quid in whether you buy in advance or not, so the financial constraints on your pocket are still the same, just at a different time.

If anything it can benefit some people, take me for example, i get paid friday, so on friday i may pop to pools and get a ticket, knowing it's all ticket gives me a bit more urgency to go get one, instead of waiting till day of game and maybe not having dosh.

I just think your constant references too it are a little over the top thats all, just my opinion like.

Turner sympathises with fans about rearranged date, and sounds like he would have preferred a later date.

If you do an overnight you can double that to £12 plus extra if you intend going outside of Zone 2.

Actually the re-arranged fixture suits at least three London based (during the work week) Poolie superfans.

Selfish but true.

Would you honestly want to sit face to face with players who have 8 points on the board in January!? What do you say? It must be bad enough having to watch them play.

Can you imagine what sort of questions we'd have had for Jade Sinclair or Rob Moverley when we were comparably shite!? What do you say!!?

Football League rules state that you must go for the first date available to both Clubs. Despite our best efforts, the decision was made to re-arrange the fixture for Tuesday 19th January 2010. As you are no doubt aware, there is a backlog of fixtures throughout the Football League Clubs due to the adverse weather we have experienced and this was one of the contributing factors as to how they came to their decision.

That is part of the reply to my email, at this moment in time Charlton and ourselves have no other postponed fixtures.

The how THEY came to their decision, appears to me that Pools opinions and ideas meant NOTHING.

It never seems to be in our hands when we play. Its always the other team and the football league. ALWAYS.

That's because the decision, or rather the suggested dates, lie with the Home Team.

We haven't (or hadn't!) had a match called off for 5 years.

but surely they can only suggest dates ?

hauling the team all the way down to charlton by bus on a tuesday, getting back daft o clock wednesday morning, then hauling them back down to bristol by bus on the friday ? then hauling them back and getting in daft o clock on sunday morning, then playing again tuesday, then hauling them down to norwich on the friday ?

yeah that makes sense. sctatchinghead

Russ should have sorted a deal with Grand Central to get the team down next Tuesday when he was in there sorting that super deal for the supporters!

the law of averages say we are due something against Bristol Rovers, so we might get a point there!!
I'll be using some of my winnings from Pools losing at Charlton though, and banging it on us getting twatted at Norwich!!! Let's face it, what other team is so predictable in front of a big crowd? If they are going to piss me off by always, always, always losing these games, I might as well use it as an opportunity to make some cash.
If I lose my bet I'll be happy Pools have done the unthinkable and not got beat there!!! So I can't fall off really.
I'll still have that pint bet with you that we'll lose all four though!!!!

Very twatty of Charlton to want to play it so soon though.

Yes and some of them players travelling straight back after the Charlton game not getting home till 5-6 in the morning will be expected to play Leeds in the reserve Game on the afternoon so again another reason why Pools have not had a say in the re arranged fixture!!!

I wouldn't be going to Charlton anyway - going to Norwich instead but you just know that Pools will have much more of a chance with 87 away fans watching rather than have a good following of 500 or so....

Any normal club would announce one night, then if popular organise a second one.

Anyone think a Chrissy Turner talk in would be a good idea?
