Just out of interest Mr Mad, not saying my willies bigger or nowt like that. This site pales into insignificance when level of input from is concerned.

Seems a waste but I still a bit loathe to put advertising in because thats probably the one thing that puts people off message boards.

Trouble is; as the traffic increases the costs increase with it. This site started as a relatively minimal cost but the level of traffic is such that its starting to get expensive. I didn't mind at first but now its on target to cost about £50 a month so the costs might dictate the way that they are covered.

whilst a very good idea how would it make the bunkerites appear. there have been accusations of being a clique in the past this would pour the petrol, add the firelighters and sit in a pile of charcoal :shock:

another board I go on managed to get an Amazon link at the top and bottom of the page, and something like 10% of what's bought through the link gets given to the board. it's no more busy than this board and it manages to stay afloat through the amazon link.

there's either that or voluntary donations - i'm sure there will be plenty of people willing to send a couple of quid off - proper subscriptions are a bit formal and would drive plenty of people away.

Subscriptions wouldn't necessarily make the board 'exclusive'...anyone's money might be welcome (well, most people's) . The only criterion for membership on here seems to be a talent to thrive on mutual insults....I think that's 'self-selecting' rather than cliquish!
