I don't think we have a chance. So I have bet on this according.

Hopefully I'll be wrong. :coool:

I think they could, I was surprised to see the south africans declaring so early, certainly gives us a chance.

Has a score of 465 ever been scored to win a Test Match? I'd be very surprised if it had.

The South Africans have left themselves plenty of time to skittle us out and I'd much rather fancy my chances of getting 10 wickets than getting those kind of runs. With approx 130 overs left, I'd be very surprised if it was a draw now too.

I'll answer my own question.

418 is the record by the Windies,

Only England have ever scored more than 451 in a 4th innings.....and that was in 1939.

Look South Africa are the number one team in the world - we're just lucky to be playing against them. It doesn't matter if we lose as they are so much better than us. It would be quite a result if we could keep it tight till the third session tomorrow.

Or so CT told me

Alistair Cook, you tart.

You could get 7/5 on SA winning before the wicket went. I find that astonishing.

Here's Jonathon Trott to wind them fckers up!

We haven't a hope of winning.

No chance of rain either.

Highest total to win a Test match is probably the most misleading statistic in cricket. There have been plenty of times that a team has been chasing say 250 and got there with loads of time and wickets to spare. They could have probably chased a higher total but didn't need to do so.

That said, England won't win this. South Africa always have the option of cutting off all scoring and slowing the game down. England's best bet is to keep doing what they are doing. Don't give your wicket away and keep the scoreboard ticking over. Get to lunch tomorrow with no more than a couple down and within 250-300 runs of the target. That makes it more likely that Smith will start to defend/slow the game and makes the draw more likely. But a draw and a SA win should be the only two possible results.

Current odd's on an England win with Ladbrokes is 10/1. Fancy giving me same odd's MJ and I risk a couple quid with you.

8.4 overs left in and we're sending in a nightwatchman whose batting has dipped recently. I fear the worst.

I hate the idea of anyone sending in a night watchman

Pietersen wants offing, he's hopelessly out of form. 6 in the whole match is what Monty Panesar would get and yet he gets a key batting spot. He must have Beyonce Knowles and a mucky Thai whore in the dressing room, both stripped for action.

If you send a "nightwatchman" in during the morning or afternoon sessions is he still referred to as that?

Or is he a "afternoon security-guard" or "morning nursery-nurse"?

Is 142 overs, if we last that far, the end?

Its either 6 overs or 15.47 hrs BST. Whichever is latest.

http://www.cricinfo.com has far commentary than the BBC, Ripper. You can have it working in the background and just keep the score on your taskbar. hth.
