We must be the slowest club in the world at getting signings finalised. All reports suggest he is signing, if he hasnt already signed, and yet still nothing is confirmed.

This is particularly aimed at this signing, but IOR's insistance on treating every aspect of the club as a normal business sometimes works agaianst them, and does alienate fans.

Lets face it, we all suspect the club delay annoucements just to piss off the media, but sometimes it just gets ridiculous.

Talking about Gamble, maybe someone should tell the club the window will be closing shortly.

Remember how long it took us to sign Ritchie Barker?

Don't you start criticising Mr Hodcroft............you'll incur the wrath of our resident genius.

I only thought he was coming over on trial - never thought or understood it to be a definate signing. The club only announce things when it's official, and I prefer it that way.

You've actually said it yourself..... reports...... but reports from where????? message boards, rumour mill, the media, have Pools actually come out and said we're signing him. I don't think so, now yes he may well be on way, but he may not, Pools may not have confirmed they trying to sign him so other's don't try to, on other hand they may well be happy for his name to keep getting mentioned as they actually signing someone else from Cork or Ipswich or Middlesbrough and are happy to use Gamble as a "smokescreen"

This hurts me to say this...

But dibble is right, for as long as i can remember, every signing is a long drawn out process, complications left right and centre.

I spoke to a pools signing about this, who said it was a massive fart on from start to finish.

Interestingly the Pools World video was recorded/uploaded seven hours before the announcement - I wonder why there was such a delay

Thanks for all of those very sensible remarks.

But you are all missing the point. I dont blame the club for saying nothing etc.

Its just that it always seems the way with pools, and I did actually say I wasnt aiming it at this particular player.

For example, who come there are ALWAYS complications, when we try to sign someone.

As Spender mentions it's probably due to he and his agent having to scour 500 pages of small print connected with the contract.

Clause 437:- Thou shalt not use the "fekkin" word in or around the hospitality areas".

JOE GAMBLE'S move from Cork City to Hartlepool went through last night after overcoming a late hitch when the Leesiders sought a 20pc sell-on clause.

There's your reason.

Did we get away without having to give them a 20% sell on clause?
