agreed - Turner is a k-u-n-t and no mistake. Excuse-ism at its worst - before we even play the bas-tard games!! That is why it will happen, because there's no belief at the club!!! If the manager doesn't believe in his team what hope is there? It's tantamount to saying,"it's alright to get beat lads, you were playing Charlton after all"
Why doesn't he just f-uck the f-uck off?

I almost posted this myself as it was idiocy beyond contempt. It ranked almost as badly as his 'this team won't start performing until January' tripe.

Didn't Turner used to be good at PR? What's happened to him? I remember when he went to Sheff Wed and a few of their fans weren't that happy about his appointment and then after his interview they were all saying how much they liked him.

He brought in a dozen players in the summer so he can't use this 'poor little Hartlepool' and this would have been even more if Healey and Rose hadn't let us down at the last minute. I bet we signed as many players in the summer as any other team in the league. He's an absolute fool.

But it's OK because we're 11th in the league, remember? banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead banghead

I dont normally comment on the footie related things, because i dont get to the games, but i have to say, thats very worrying, from a manager,im astonished, if a player had said it i guess any manager would have hauled him across the coals for being negative !
it a Turner out ! from me ! not upstairs but out

rolfl another reason i dont like to voice my opinion on football related matters is because a few years ago,on the old site i said i didnt think Scott was the man for the job! i got shot to death with them little machine gun icon thingy's and accussed of being a loid

He isn't going anywhere though, is he? He'll still be in charge at the end of the season and he'll probably still be in charge of the next season.

We don't need him as manager and we don't need him upstairs IMO.

When will Turner realise that we may be punching above our weight in terms of attendances but structurally and financially as a club we are very stable and perhaps one of if not the best run of the "smaller" clubs in the division.
Hence the fact that he could go out in the close season and sign so many new players.
Players like Brown, Liddle, Monkhouse,Flinders,Jones and Austin would compete for places in any of the so called "bigger" clubs.

We are not one of the smaller clubs in the division. We are the smallest club in the division - look at the attendances.

We are amongst the best run, but much more importantly we are - proportionally to our gate receipts - the most subsidised.

I agree with you about the six quality players and would add Boyd and Collins to the list as well. Hasn't the manager that has managed to assemble them done well?

And as for the massive gap in the midfield that is so obvious to all fans but not CT- we are signing Gamble and Healy. Why it is almost as if the manager does see and knows what he's doing. Why didn't we sign them in the summer (apart from the fact that CT tried despeatrately to get Healy) - could it possibly be that we have one of the smallest budgets in the division and had to get high wage earner Willie Boland off the books before making a big investment in two midfielders.

I cannot believe the hysteria and negativity. We've got 3 tough games coming up and people think the world is going to end. We have a run in that is probably the easiest I can ever remember.

We've addressed the keeping crisis. We've sorted the centre backs. One full-back is superb, the other improving every game. We have a problem in centre midfield -two new players will arrive shortly. We're coping with yet another injury to our best player just fine.

I honestly believe that this team has the potential next year to be one of our best ever - look at the league table - this team is already in the top 4 positions that Pools have ever been in at Christmas in 101 years. Where's the panic?

I agree that this team has the potential to be one of the best ever.
We need a manager though to maximise the potential.
Turner isn't the man to achieve this.
Though crowds would still remain low if Arsene Wenger was appointed manager.

We all know you are Chris Turner.

With his latest bile of gash and excuses its no wonder we dont beat the bigger teams, Turner has them down as losing already. The one thing you were ever any good at was PR, now your utter shite at that too, kindly fuck off out of thic club completley and let us move forward.

Do you really believe we have one of the smallest budgets in the division? Do Stockport, Yeovil, Southend, Wycombe, Gillingham, Exeter (to name a few off the top of my head) have a bigger budget than Pools? I don't think they do.

It's not 3 tough games coming up, it's 8 games out of the next 11 where I genuinely don't believe we'll get more than 3 points from. Given that 5th bottom are just 4 points behind us, I would be utterly amazed if we weren't sucked into those group of teams who are fighting off relegation for the last couple of months.

You say we have an easy run in, our last t games are Brighton, Wycombe, Stockport, Colchester, Walsall, Exeter and Brentford. We have managed just 1 win against these 7 teams so far this season, how did such a marvellous manager in Chris Turner only achieve one win against such easy teams?

I am not panicing, I don't think it's hysteria, I just think Turner is a rubbish manager who doesn't make going to Pools enjoyable. He is rubbish tactically, has been a flop in the transfer market, he talks utter jibberish, he struggles to get the best out of players and the football served up this season has been awful.

I never thought I'd complain about being 11th in League One but I am trying to look at the bigger picture and I can't see Pools ever prospering under such a clueless bloke.

I agree we have some quality in the team and there is a foundation to be built on but I don't believe Turner is the man to build on this.

I admire your optimism (I genuinely do) and I hope you're proved right and I am wrong but I just can't see it.

It sounds like Gamble is the type of player we need, hopefully he'll be given the chance to prove himself as Behan has struggled this season so there is no guarantee that he will be good enough and he is going to start his career in England against some excellent players from big teams.

Out of turners signings so far there's only Flinders, Austin and Boyd who have done well so far this season.
Thats 3 out of what 10 signings.
Hartley is a centre back playing out of position. Maybe he'll come good.
Freddy and Mcsweeney have shown few glimpses of what they can do.
The Iceman looks a poor signing, as does Behan, as does Larkin as does Haslam.
Lets hope this new irish kid is a decent signing.
Looking at turners record upto now it doesn't look promising.

It's funny how people get such different impressions...our lot think Hartley has been pretty impressive already. Definitely in the list of players who've done very well this season.

Don't forget all the flops he signed in January. Nardiello aside they were all flops and Skarz was too little too late.

I also have strong reservations about Boyd, his performances have been distinctly average though to his credit he has chipped in with a few goals.

To be honest, it doesn't really fill me with a lot of confidence, saying that we haven't been able to train before Boxing Day's big game against the League One leaders, the so-called mighty Leeds United.

But these are exceptional circumstances I think. In nearly two decades, I've never seen a period of cold weather that has been as disruptive as what we've seen in the last week across the country.

Mind you, if we manage somehow to achieve a miracle and sneak a 1-0, it'll make it more of a story, won't it?

It's a type of artificial football pitch that is designed so that people can play on it in all types of weather and at all times of the day, with floodlights.

3G stands for Third Generation - we've got a 3g pitch at the University as well as an Astroturf pitch, that's used for field hockey as well.

Lokking at dates only Monkhouse and Brown were not identified by CT.

Though I believe Monkhouse's signing would have been agreed by Turner.

Possibly this is why managers sometimes refer to the fact that Pools are a small club.

Coca-Cola Football League One 2009-2010

Team AveCrowd
Leeds United 24,564
Norwich City 24,249
Southampton 19,651
Charlton Athletic 16,851
Huddersfield Town 12,813
Milton Keynes Dons 10,325
Millwall 9,153
Southend United 8,108
Bristol Rovers 7,415
Swindon Town 7,343
Gillingham 6,464
Brighton & Hove 6,261
Brentford 5,819
Carlisle United 5,506
Exeter City 5,505
Colchester United 5,328
Wycombe Wanderers 5,300
Tranmere Rovers 5,278
Oldham Athletic 5,257
Leyton Orient 5,047
Walsall 4,364
Stockport County 4,273
Yeovil Town 4,254
Hartlepool United 3,529

That was as of Dec 8th and will now be lower.

There are 6 conference clubs averaging a higher attendance than us.

H/pool is a town of cynical, Sky tv-watching, ManUtd and Liverpool loving, soul-less arseholes.

I've lost count of the times that 'diamond geezers' in the pub have said , when asked why they didn't go to watch their own team instead of the premiership on the telly hilarious things like ' they never came to see me when I was bad'. Arseholes.

Why get angry when the club interject a little truth.
