cant believe this comment " at least we have facilities anyone would be proud of if not much else"

why cant they see that the facilities might be good but to be proud of something that has effectively killed their club they must need their head looking at.

I loved this one,the games still a week away & their top notch facilities are overtaxed

Darlington Football Club are calling for volunteers to help clear snow from the stadium this week in preparation for the match on 28th December against Lincoln City.

In order for the game to go ahead, the snow needs to be removed now, and the pitch covered to prevent it freezing and being unplayable.

It will once again be all hands on deck to remove the snow now to avoid a repeat postponement of the match. Volunteers will be rewarded with free match tickets and carveries.

Anybody wanting to help out should contact the club and come to the Northern Echo Arena on Tuesday any time after 10am.

"It was great to see people turning up on Friday to help and do their bit for the club. Unfortunately the ground froze overnight and the game was eventually called off, despite all the effort put in on Friday," said General Manager Phil Preston, who was out shovelling as well.

We've got more time now and the forecast is ok between now and the Lincoln match so if we move the snow we'll give the game every chance of going ahead."

So dioes that mean fans cleared the pich on Friday, then saturdays game was called off so some doil decided to take the pitch covers back off again ?
At least you can get a carvery even if the pitch & the team arent good enough to manage a game of footy

Will they still get their carveries if the Lincoln match is called off though?

IOR could pull out. I reckon though that they may just tighten the ship if crowds dont improve & make you work to a more realistic budget. As for our ground falling to bits, its not. The pitch however has always had problems that even undersoil heating would fail to fix. Heard over the weekend though that things could change on the stadium front again. Nothing to do with Tesco though.

Dunno about the facilities, but "yep" to the rest. At the end of the day, nothing I said wasn't true was it? 2,700? In League 1?

If I was you, I'd start worrying about the sinking ship you're on instead of getting 'aroused' at the propsect of what may or may not happen at Pools. The rocks are in sight, if I was you I'd be looking for your lifeboat station, there's no way back, you're scuppered.

I cant say, other than its nothing to do with retail and because of that I doubt it would happen because of the finance involved. Discussions have been ongoing since the summer about a town centre site.

Don't worry Mr Elvis, the only thing the jealous one is going to put out is the last flickering bulb as the last man leaves the theatre of nightmares.

I do have fond memories of the great folly though............we have A HUNDRED PER CENT RECORD THERE and THE LOIDS HAVE NEVER SCORED AGAINST POOLS THERE.

I know for a fact that the perspex sections are heavily mildewed because they haven't been cleaned since day one! You can see that from the outside. And the surrounding "parklands/ponds" are a jungle.

That doesnt mean its falling apart though! Its just needs a clean! Its not exactly a priority though at the moment. Mind you its one of a number of things Reynolds failed to consider when deciding to build the damn place stpid

Im suprised youve read it Phil, I wouldnt have been interested in a book about Turner. Theres probably a bit of bull in there though in some parts but the majority is what actually happened. You are right about us losing 3000, thats apathy for you (and a shit team this season!)

My interest goes no further than here and the banter with you lot. In the 3 years I lived on the marina I only went to Vic Park 2 times, once with Darlo & the other for the pre season Newcastle battering.

As for the chanting, name me one person who wouldnt have got carried away with the bollox that Reynolds spouted at the time. I know of at least one Pools fan who admitted he was jealous when Reynolds first came along....dont I Phil!! No doubt who was better off in the long run though!

The bunker is shite at the moment for 2 reasons, the football is shite and therefore people are losing interest and saddos like Obafemi just go on and on and on about Darlo and its more boring than Obafemi himself.

Sorry Dave but I know several Darlo fans who didn't get carried away..I know one that never set foot in the place once Reynolds took over..apparently him and GR went back a long way, something about non-payment for a major plastering job??

Well in the same convo we had that day you called in Phil, I did say that it was too good to be true and we'd have to wait & see what happens. My point about being carried away was in respect of the chants towards the pools fans during the derby games, using Reynolds promises to have a dig at you lot, derby day banter etc. I know people myself that couldnt stand Reynolds even before he started acting like an arse. He got my back up with his performance on MOTD when we played Villa in the cup, then I started hearing the rumours of his goings on behind the scenes which more or less put the seal on my view of him.
