Couldn't care less if people think I'm sad, it's brilliant and nearly 70k raised for shelter so far with the profits from the song going on top of that too.

So this badly aged, 17 year old song get to number one and it's supposed to be a triumph for the British people against Simon Cowell and the X Factor?
Its not Simon Cowells fault the winner of X Factor has been at number one the last 3 or 4 Christmases in a row, no one was ever forced to buy it.

The British public want to sort themselves out.

Actually I agree with you there confised

Zack de la Rocha quit the band when they became 'too famous' (or I assume he made enough money) and the rest of them formed audioslave. Funny how he's back now though.

Louis Armstrong knocked the Beatles off the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Hello, Dolly!", which gave the 63-year-old performer a U.S. record as the oldest artist to have a No.1 song. Admittedely he had had a pretty successful career already for about 40 years.

you think everyone makes music to have a career in it ?

perhaps you think the best songs are the ones that sell the most ?

a lot of the bands i like have zero interest in making commercial music.

sadly some idiots think money is everything.

Have you considered joining an anger management group at all Chippy?

I have the impression that Kev does have a pretty good understanding of the fact not ever musician is in it for fame and money. I suspect it's more likely he is on the wind up.

Another thread where only Chip is talking sense amongst the usual boring rabble.

Nothing new to see here.
