All depends how well (or to be more precise how rare) its cooked.. If its a well done steak you want you might as well not bother getting a good cut cos incinerating it fooks it anyway!

It is true though....a slow Roasted Joint....is much more juicy/succelent* than a huge steak in a Griddle Frying Pan....the taste is superior....and you can make Gravy with the Juices/Sweat!!!! :coool: :coool: :coool:

How rare do you like your lamb cooked Mr Bilog ..they reckon it should be pink even though I've not really tasted any cooked like that.

The rarest steak I ever had was in Holland by time I finished it the plate was awash with a red sauce even though I'd never put any on..Ever since that day my taste for rare steak has never abated much to the disgust of the boss...

Not too keen on fillet steak which is supposed to be about the best cut isn't it? Prefer Rib Eye medium rare.... I only ever have it when I'm working away and the company pays for it mind. It's way too expensive, normally at last a tenner for steak and chips usually more so I guess Mr Mutley is right - It is over rated....

it's nice but not realy worth the price. i think over cooking steak is an old fashioned Brittish thing, most people who have steak well done tend to be over 60.....

Personally I like it a little pink, but the other half usually will put it in for a little longer if she thinks it's underdone.

Cheap steak is shite.

I got a big fk-off T-bone from the butcher's in the Indoor Market on Friday, obviously cooked to perfection and absolutely lush.

If you want to appreciate good meat be prepared to pay a decent price for it and don't buy the cheap cuts (or supermarket bollox) masquerading as proper meat.

I said is over-rated in restarantes but if you buy a good cut yourself its great. Went I am out I have my steak rare but if I am doing it myself and season it right like it blue

Went to the States a few months ago, and had a 14oz steak. Cooked medium-rare and was the best steak I've ever tasted. When cooked well, it's fantastic.

Nail on the head there Mr.Ripper. Cheap Steak isn't worth having.

Also concurring with WPP, some of the best Steaks I've ever had have been in the United States, when I'm there it's usually one a day for me!!

Be careful out there........regular consumption of red meat is linked with bowel cancer.
