Given the enormous cost involved, do we need them or should we cancel to save money?

It's relatively easy to quantify cost.....but a bit more difficult to quantify benefit.
The question is a bit late in the day.
We asked the question some years ago............answered yes..............so now we've got them.
We have to now concentrate on gaining as much benefit, financial and otherwise, from staging the event.

When is the decision made for the world cup, as hopefully it will be after the olympics as if we put on a good show it can only be beneficial to the selection committee

I think the World Cup decision is announced next November/December.

We shouldn't go back on hosting the Olympics now. For one thing, Seb Coe signed a contract,if we pulled out now, we'd get sued surely.

And also we shouldn't let the doom and gloom of a recession spoil the great festival that it's supposed to be.

I thought most people on hear were interested in sport.

Mr Kent, don't worry, they won't be cancelled. You can sleep easily tonight.

Most of the money is already spent anyway!

I wouldn't normally correct anyone’s spelling or grammar but as you are studying at university and I occasionally teach, you should have used ‘here’ and not hear on your second from last line.

Unfortunately London isn't the best English city in the world. It's a bit multicultural and okay if you like multicultural.

i have to say lived there for 15 years and it broke my heart when i left. still go down there 6 or 7 times a year, and never get tired of the place. the stuff you can see for just the cost of a one day travelcard is mindblowing.

theres not an english city ive been to comes even close.

Aye, London has it's good and bad points as per your first list.

Well I am in London a lot these days and I love the place. Its a fantastic city.

And as for the Olypics, it would be utter madness to cancel them to save a few bob.

And this has nothing to do with the fact that my company are building some of the venues, and I have auctions to run on them.

can you get me a fridge/freezer
