Just read that and responded.
If they go on seething any longer, they'll turn into a seethe...etc.

They appear to get moist at any clippit of any other team struggling financially. Notts County being the latest worthy of their attention.

I suppose the drowning man always looks to take a few along with him. V.POOR LOAN STAR. stpid

They're like a female ' washing machine'... they go through a predictable programme of 'emotions' in a standard order, from logical to almost crying, from frighteningly paranoid to festering jealousy, screaming 'facts' to irrtating whining ...and back to the start of the 'cycle'....

If only they were running on two wheels Mr Snowy, they'd be much better off, and aiming for four...

However....

It's just another example of Loan Star, who I always thought to be THE best Darlington poster and a canny lad to boot, burning with jealousy about Pools.

Note he's cleverly put "Well Run" in inverted commas, to signify that he thinks HUFC AREN'T "Well Run" at all....despite the blatant evidence that Hartlepool United FC, An IOR Company, is incredibly well-run but unlike his own club, actually has the financial clout behind it to survive.

Thankfully several of The Loids on there aren't QUITE as vengeful as LS and can see the real story.

Tell you what Dave, why not ask Santa if you can have "IOR Pulling Out Of Pools" as a Christmas Pressie??!!!

Far from it Phil, Im not jealous. In fact for people like yourself I think its great that the club you have followed for donkeys years are holding their own in League 1. You seen & spoke to me often enough to know that I'm honest with my views as well even if it means slagging off the club Ive supported for donkeys years as well. The only thing that does piss me off is the constant well run lark. Like Ive said on the thread on Uncovered there is no doubt that most of the people employed by Hartlepool are doing a good job both on & off the pitch. However, a well run business does not rely on handouts, end of! Yes I'd love to be where you are in the league, thats the only bit of jealousy you would see from me.

Loan Star, just because you keep repeating the same mantra it does not mean that it is accurate. Unlike Darlington who it seems to me have plucked budget figures out of the air under successive chairman for many years and budgetted for wholly unrealistic attendances Pools know what the budget is, they know year on year how much IOR are prepared to put in to subsidise the club and they plan to that end. That is what a well run club does. As for your analogy about businesses losing money I'm afraid it really doesn't apply to football. There are few, if any clubs making a profit throughout the League. A well run club is one which knows it's projected annual deficit and manages the debt successfully in our case via a large subsidy from a multi national company. We all know about Qwakers heartfelt wish for IOR to pull out and for things to go tits up this is unlikely to happen particularly if and when the Council sell them the ground.
We are a well run club Darlo, Notts County, Southampton, Macclesfield, Portsmouth and probably a dozen others aren't.

I see your point Pete but I still maintain that relying on handouts isnt good business sense. Darlo are probably one of the best examples of how not to run a club and I would reckon you could add another 80 clubs to the list in your post. If us keeping to budget sees us relegated then so be it, I'm sick to death of how the game is run in general because most clubs are reliant on Sky, multinational companies, chancers & crooks to keep them going. I wouldnt wish financial problems on any club (well maybe Man Utd!) especially in the lower leagues but if clubs keep relying on handouts then there are going to be plenty more clubs in the same boat as us.

You are so right of course, but until the 'stars' are taken in hand nothing will change, too mnay interests of a financial nature at work. Our trouble is that without IOR we're shafted, as local business doesn't give a flying fook and if the day ever comes IOR walk, we have a problem... and then some of us won't be so smug and taking IOR for granted. If anyones history of support goes back pre IOR, they shouldn't need reminding it's a scary place out there.... without a backer.

The last two posts sum up exactly the point I was making! Its got nothing to do with jealousy as some might think. What has happened to Darlo can so easily happen to other clubs including yourselves which is why its my view that a well run club should not rely on someone elses money but be self sustainable and then any money a benefactor chooses to put in is a bonus.

In an ideal world I would agree with you. But you can only piss with the cock you've got and if IOR want to subsidise Pools by writing off debts (as opposed to levying them against the football club) then that'll do for me and I'll enjoy it while I can.

I concur.

I was a bit pissed when Uncle George the 1st turned up at their place promising them the world if I'm honest.

In hindsight though it was just the start of a magical journey.

Personally, I think the only way for you lot to progress is for the Council to sell the land to IOR. And if that is what is stopping a Football Club progress, then the Council should do the right thing, and get it sold.

I agree with this, theres nothing worse than councils getting in the way of businesses wanting to progress, I had this experience myself. The bonus for Pools is the fact that government cash for local councils is going to be severely cut due to Browns balls up with the economy meaning that councils like Hartlepool will be gagging for any cash they can raise from selling assets, the land which IOR want to buy being one of them.
