I'd second that. Mr. Poolie in Nottingham has been an excellent servant to Monkey Business over the years.

Enjoy your retirement John!

It's a huge job and not one that any one person can do along for an extended period. PIN has done an amazing job as did Lol & Iean before him. Not sure who can take over, maybe POK would fancy a go, that would be interesting.

Who's second in command at MB? Surely, they'll take over, won't they?

Chip, you can't let knock MB on the head! It's our fanzine!

There isn't a 2IC, Mr PIN has done it all himself for the past three or four years. Thats enough of a shift for anyone.

I think the reasons he was getting at was its a hell of a lot of work for anyone involved. I take my hat off to anyone involved with MB. I would love to work on it but my written skills arnt the best, as people on here know.

I see Mr Fireball poo-poohed the idea the minute work was suggested....

Obviously, from his post, it's only survived because of his input. We should let it die now.

NNNNNNOOOOOO!!!!!!! I can't do it, I'm in the wrong place but for all that it shouldn't just peter out.

Someone, do, something, quickly.

Or go and watch Sunderland..

as it happens mr fireball has done more than his fair share of unpaid work for the fanzine.

having edited it, written large chunks of it, been a contributor to pretty much every issue for over a decade, and having sold it at pretty much every league ground in the lower leagues i think im entitled to an opinion.

Chip stop fcking biting at everything you big twat!

Concurring with Mr Spender.

When this problem last arose (prior to Mr PiN taking over) I offered to do it in the interim pending somebody taking it on. Unfortunately that's not an option at the moment due to having the little 'un to look after but surely one of the younger sages on here (Mr Compo, literacy wouldn't preclude you as somebody could proof it before issue) or one of our more elder statesmen could step into the breach- maybe put together a little consortium with designated duties as opposed to trying to do it all themself?

There's gotta be somebody out there?

Seriously though, it is hard work. Even the cartoons I used to do take up plenty of time, so god knows what it's like having to pull it all together. It has to be said though that the messagboards have replaced the fanzines original purpose ... A yearbook or a piss take calendar would be the sort of options that offer a different perspective.
It would be nice if it continued though, it's part of the fabric of things.
