To be honest, I think he must have got most of the material for the feature from the new history book, or even worse, Wikipedia.

Because what he mentioned about us seem to be the first things that crop up when talking about the Club e.g the Zeppelin, Clough, the Iron Maiden connection.

I think I did hear the Bill Norman thing a long time ago though.

Yet more lazy patronising journalism. Why not mention the winning run of a few years ago? The play off final?

And how come the highlights missed all the other chances?

BBC? Bastard Buggering damned bounders.

And he said our ground was on Victoria Road. I know the council want to keep the ground but making us play in the civic centre is just silly!

Yeah, I thought he'd said that. That's another shoddy piece of 'Pools related journalism that I've seen.

I think Clem's confused us with Dagenham and Redbridge, who play at Victoria Road, we're as we of course on CLARENCE Road.

At the time he was talking about, we where 'Victoria Ground' which is what he said
Publicity is good, stop knocking it for the sake of it, years ago no-one would have even bothered coming up this far

We are famous for the Zep, Clough etc. Why mention a failed play-off final

it gets boring tagged with the same negative lazy rabbish everytime. He goes to swindon, interviews a fan and the manager. Yet he comes to pools and just lifts his report from wiki, don't you get bored of being tagged with the same rubbish every year? A lot has happened to this club since clough why not mention it?

Maybe Turner wasnt available for an interview? Its easy to pick faults on coverage of your own club but I'd like to bet other clubs fans complain as much about their coverage as well. My only gripe is the usual one where it seems to be the same few teams on a rotation basis with the occasional Pools/Darlo etc stuck in between. I know they made a few errors when we got a bit extra coverage, typical national journalism.

Because in terms of the League, getting there was the Club's biggest ever achievement one could argue.

In the last ten years, we have reached 3 consecutive 3rd Division Play-Offs, 1 Division 2 Play-Off Semi-Final and 1 Coca Cola League One Play-Off Final. We have won promotion to the third tier of English football twice in 5 years, were twice runners-up in years we should have won the League and have knocked out the likes of Stoke City, Burnley, West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City out of the Carling Cup and League Cup. A couple of years ago, one of the best players to arguably have played for this Club was invited to a reception with the Queen.

Personally, I can't believe how Clem failed to mention any of those facts above especially Ritchie Humphries meeting the Queen.

We weren't that far away though, were we? It might sound like "So near and yet so far", but being 8 minutes away from the Championship after leading against the legendary Sheffield Wednesday.

If we had beaten them, it would have been a big story.

The Club that applied for re-election to the League more than any other, promoted to the Promised Land of the Championship. It would have been big.

If we'd have won in Cardiff, it would have been the Club's greatest achievement, to get to the Championship.

That's a contradiction in terms, surely.

You criticise my opinions...and then you agree with something I've just said. sctatchinghead

It would have been as good as for us if we'd got promoted that day.

Yeah, but surely these journalists must have to do some research before they get to do these features.

Complain about what??

For christs sake, they give the club a bit of publicity, read out some facts people from other clubs probably dont know, send a bloke to our ground and you lot still whinge. Its more than any other tv show/local news does.
