Wasn't that woman with the american accent taking part in the draw a credit to women everywhere. Wonderful insights into the subtlties of the draw and a full understanding of the cultural significance of football in Africa and the wider world.

This was illustrated when she said to Haile Selassi, one of the worlds greatest sportmen in living memory....you're not smiling enough Haile, you should be a smilie Haile.

My dream is an England v Australia semi final, 90th minute, Joel Porter comes on as sub with the game at 0-0, gets the ball in midfield, sweeps past gerhard, nutmegs Lampard, leaves Ferdinand in a heap and curls a 20 yarder past the goalkeeper.
Then the ref blows for full time.
How I would love that.

I'm wondering how much security will be needed for England versus USA. That's a pretty good target for some of the worlds lunatics. Soz like...

Saw the draw - probably one of the best draws England have ever had for a major tournament.

And you'd be surprised just how important a good draw is to a campaign.

Some people that I've spoken to think the US might be a tricky tie, but as long as we approach it with a bit of professionalism, I can't see us aiming for any less than winning Group C.

And I don't think really there was any Group of Death from this draw. Group G might look a bit 'niggly', but no group actually stands out as being too difficult.

We will play the USA at 3pm our time on Saturday 12th June so I hope somebody doesn't plan anything silly like having an exam on that Saturday.

If all goes to form it will be England v Germany in the quarter final.

or some 'lovely lovely person' of a ref rules a perfectly good header out cos there keeper gets looked at in the eye and goes to the floor holding his body like he's been shot.
