Battered them in the first half, they got us on the break to equalise, then we let them right in it.

They played plenty of balls to feet, whereas we couldn't control it and lost possession constantly.

We had a bit of pressure and a couple of chances to win late on but it wasn't to be. Weather was shite and pitch was crap but this is a team we should have put to the sword.

A few questions I'd like to ask Danny Wilson - why play Brown on the left and Monkhouse on the right? Monkhouse didn't perform at all like he does when I've seen him on the left.

Lee Bullock? Nuff said.

Matty Robson for Eifion? Williams was still full of running, a straight swap for Monkhouse would have worked better in my opinion.

Ali Gibb for Monkhouse when Foley was on the bench? This game was made for a sub like Foley. He would have scared them shitless. What does he have to do?

Fair dos to Gibb, he delivered a couple of good crosses but he doesn't have the speed or shooting ability that little David does.

Right, there's scran to pouch and beer to drink so that's me.

Thought the game was there for the taking but after we scored we just went through the motions - the warning signs were there towards the end of the first half with a couple of chances but we failed to learn the lesson and got punished for it - after the equaliser we went completely headless chicken and we really missed someone with a cool head to put their foot on the ball in midfield (ie Boland).

Llewelllyn had a good game, and obviously felt he had something to prove (as demonstrated by his reaction when he scored, which was to come over to the Pools fans gesturing). All he proved today was that he's more than a little petty and if he's reading this - if you'd done that when you were at Pools instead of looking uninterested most of the time, maybe you'd still be playing in a higher division.....

A few brickbats to chuck. Monkhouse was pretty quiet, Robson was a waste of space, as was Bullock. Barker... yes he scored, and got into some decent positions (including once when he was clear through when the flag went up - despite him having to dodge round a home defender on his way to the ball!) but he was leaving almost all the closing down etc to Eifion. He seemed to be saying "You do the running and create the chances, and I'll stick them away" - Eifion (prob our best player) did all the chasing and closing down up front and a fine job he did of it too. No disrespect to Brown, but you really noticed how much Eif had been doing when Wilson took him off and stuck Brown up front. Brown had actually done a more than reasonable job on the left, but saw hardly any of the ball after going up top.

Two points dropped in my book - Wrexham looked short on craft a lot of the time and some determination could have seen the game safe by the break, but we allowed them to play and paid the penalty.
