I have the best sense of humour going, hence why i like frasier cos it is very funny, it's a smart comedy which is why you don't get it.

Actually you're correct, Phoenix nights was good, but the script was the work of Dave Spikey and the bloke whom played the DJ, his name escapes me, as well as Peter Kay. I believe they had 'differences' which would explain the almost complete absence of the bloke from the screen for some time.
The trouble is with comedy, a lot of people like some one initially and just go on liking them, failing to notice that they're not as funny as they used to be.

Nope it was Neil Fitzmaurice, who plays Ray Vonn. Daniel Kitson played Spencer (?) who auditioned for a DJs job.
