ive heard before that you are better off paying up and then try and get the money back, instead of letting the bill run up.

Monday morning on the corner past High Tunstall heading towards the cricket club??

Small world if it was we got stuck on the corner while the Ron Perry truck picked it and up the police blocked the road. It was right on the grass as well I don't see how it was causing an obstruction. The Police actually caused more of an obstruction by blocking the road, everyone heading towards High Tunstall from the park had to reverse down the bank to Park Drive and turn around. The bastads what was she meant to do sctatchinghead

Ron Perry is a tvat.
He is also a cowboy and will not compromise.
However, your daughter does still hold the logbook and the cars not worth that much anyway.
I'd pay him foook all and get legal advice.

some stuck up oink who lives up there will have phoned the council or police complaining that a scruffy corsa has been left on the grass and it must be removed straight away as it is not keeping with the area

i might be wrong but i dont think your allowed to park your car on the pavement? i thnik the traffic wardens can fine you for it anyway.
if it was on the bit between tunny and the cricket club on the pavement thats a fairly narrow and dodgy bit of road so maybe why they got shot of it? whatever u do dont mention insurance around ron perrys they stick an extra 0 on the bill everytiem they hear that word

If thats the same car, Theres no way it was causing an obstruction. I was heading out of time and went past it, Thought it was parked a bit dodgy but on closer inspection was in quite a safe place.

I didnt see the Ron Perry stuff but the position of the car was more than safe

I'm sure you are allowed to park partly on the pavement as long as a pushchair can get past without having to go into the road. That assumes there are no parking restrictions in force at the time. That's the rule around here although it may vary from local authority to authority.

I know this won't help your daughter now. But this is were being a member of the AA would have proven its worth. Over the years my many older cars have occasionally broken down at the worst possible times and places. They have always come to the rescue within the hour. At that time of night they would have probably been there within a few minutes, especially for a young lady stranded in the wilds of West Park. Sorry, I know that doesn't make things any better.

The police were there stopping traffic as i got there and to honest it was a miracle there was not a pile up the car in front of me turned the corner than jammed his breaks on as the car was 50/50 on the curb and road and the police had to move it as it was dangerous.
And unfortunaly she will have to pay for the towing.

Sounds to me from all of the comments so far, that as usual the Police have managed to make a mountain out of a molehill. ACAB

And Ron Perry must be related to one.

the bairns car broke down really late on the other night up west park. she managed to get it halfway up on the pavement and got a taxi home.

she went up to get it the next morning and it had gone. she rang the police and they told her they had moved it as it was causing traffic problems during the rush hour. they also told her it had gone to ron perrys but she wouldnt be charged for them moving it.

when she rings perrys she gets told she is being charged 90 bar for the removal, and get this, 100 bar a day for storage !

she is 19 years old and the car itself is only worth about £500. it wasnt illegally parked and its taxed, insured and got 12 months mot on it.

is this shiit legal ? can plod lift any motor they want and perrys charge whatever the fook they feel like for storage ? 100 bar a day is madness. its a 1.2 corsa ffs.

as it stands the car is still there and she owes them about £400.

I had a vehicle taken a couple of months ago they charged £125 towing fee then after that £12 a day storage. Fook knows were they got the £100 storage from. Robbing baaastards banghead

I'd try the RAC legal department, I don't think you actually have to be in the RAC to use them and they've been decent on the times I've needed them.

In future I'd also get the most basic breakdown recovery for the car, if she's a young girl driving a car thats worth fck all there's a good chance it could break down any moment. For £25 a year it's a small price to pay

You could also try the advice I provided in the PM which you never thanked me for. You ungrateful silly boy.

If only she was one of the lucky ones who had a Dad who could afford to spend large of sums (I don't know, like 50k a year) on poker then maybe this wouldn't be such a problem.

When my car got broken into then burnt perry tried to take it which would have cost me money. Luckily I got to the car and stopped them from taking it.

By pure luck no other car hit it coming from the tunny school side as it was on the left hand side on a blind corner the car infront of me turned the blind corner and the car was there not on the pavement as the pavement is raised it was 50/50 on a grass/muddy cut in.
The policeman stepped on to the road and started directing cars around it.
Sorry its not the story you want to hear for the sympathy vote but that is what happened you crank. rolfl

The fat lazy bastad parents who pick their kids up from Tunny park on the pavements and blind bends every bastad day and the piggy fkers don't tow them away.

Go to The Mail, but maybe get some photos of how the parents are parked at school kicking out time to back up your argument that plod is being his usual bastad self due to being on a back hander from Perry's.

It's a shame that nobody who works for The Mail logs on here...

What is stopping perry, getting in with a few coppers, basically just picking up during the night any car in hartlepool he wants, ilegally parked or not, taking it to his garage then having your eyes out for weeks...

it's his word against yours, most people will have no option but to pay him

licence to print money this guy...

this obviously may come as a shock to some people, but the police force are corrupt. they always have been, and probably always will be.

a corrupt outfit that are self regulated, and accountable to nobody but themselves and politicians who they have no issue lying to.

even when they get caught with their mits in the till, they are usually allowed to resign on a full pension.

lets face it they are pretty much immune to prosecution when they kill people in cold blood, minor corruption is small beer.

whats that smell

I'm curious how it was less work for them.

Surely if a vehicle is sat there doing fck all then it'd be less work for them to just ignore it rather than get it recovered.

they kill people on a regular basis.

the fella that got shoved to the ground at that protest thing that was just trying to get home.

the brazilian fella they shot in the head on the tube.

they are shooting people left right and centre at the moment.

people die in police custody all the time.

Thank god your young 'un wasn't near her car at the time

You would have thought they would have tried to contact the registered owner first to make sure it hadm't been stolen and abandoned like confised

sorry but the last time i look at Policeman in the town he had Cleveland Police on the badge. Putting all coppers into this bracket is stupid, my aunt and uncle are in the police in Herts and they see no evidence of this sort of thing.

ACAB and it's just proof that they (and the banks) can do what they want and are unaccountable to nobody.

You only have to ask the Pools lads who battered at Halifax by old bill.

and theres plenty on here who can tell additional tales of how they've been treat like at grounds up and down the country.

and as for abandoned cars - if it was abandoned anywhere else - such as a bend round dykey or west view - it won't have been moved - if they think a road shouldn't be parked on - THEN PUT FERKING YELLOW LINES ON IT.

probably pointless pursuing the matter with the rozzers tho. will just have to take the £150 ON THE CHIN.

thanks for comments anyhows folks, much appreciated.

does your daughter have legal cover as part of her policy if so and perrys are prepared to state in writing that it wasnt parked illegally or dangerously they would chase the police on your behalf

Sorry but you say she left it 3/4s off the road? If there is a quarter of a car hanging onto the road then id expect it to be towed away!

But agree them prices are a rip off. I would go to the Mail, cos i see nothing else than a young girl could do at midnight other to leave it? Im sure abit of bad publicity and the cheek of charging £100 a day would make them change their tune.

ps never get your car fixed at ron perrys.

edit. next time il read the second page. Glad its sorted.

the car is still at perrys.

the only real issue was the £100 a day storage charges, which i felt were excessive given the police can only charge £25 a day if they take it to one of their compounds. perrys have agreed to waive these, but havent commented on why the car was towed to their garage, rather than back to the registered keeper who lives half a mile away.

the bairn is picking it up this afternoon.

How? Is it fixed?
