thick Chavs who think dog fighting is cool are to blame for the rearing of such animals. I have to say the pit bull breed should die out as it has a predisposition to vicious behaviour, but not all terrier breeds are like that.
Anybody who has watched The Dog Whisperer will see that any bad behaviour can be rectified with patience and strictly following certain behaviours (by that I mean the humans). We took ours to training school, not to teach him, but to teach us. We now understand what should and shouldn't be done regarding the dog, and as a result he is a great family pet.
The owners of that dog should be on manslaughter charges in my opinion, if it's proved they have reared it for any kind of fighting activities

Is the typical day out in China....

"Acts of cruelty towards animals is hardly just a Chinese phenomenon, but I am increasingly shocked at the indifference and even outright evil shown to animals here. I am not talking about eating dogs; I am talking about treating man's best friend like his sworn enemy. And there have recently been a number of published reports to back this up.

In Nanjing a group of angry residents poured gasoline on a small dog and her puppies and lit them on fire because they didn't want to listen to them barking anymore. This was not the act of one seriously sick individual but a group of neighborhood residents. Both men and women took part in the attack. One man was apparently responsible for the actual lighting of the dogs but nonetheless a group of people watched and condoned the murderer, which makes them just as guilty. Amazingly, the mother and one of her puppies lived through the despicable act but one of the puppies perished.

The Beijing Times reported this month that a 20-something year old migrant worker tortured a 2 year old goat for over an hour by kicking, whipping, and hitting it over the head with bricks because he claimed the goat bit a hole in his pants.

Also this year, a website reported and showed pictures of a young woman crushing a baby duck with her toes. In the last picture she is smiling an evil grin, appearing almost proud after committing this ghoulish deed.

I have seen this indifference and cruelty towards animals in China first hand. Earlier this month I was married in Wuhan. The night before I was to exchange vows with my beautiful bride we went for some dinner and drinks with a couple of friends. The night was coming to a close but we were having a final drink at a restaurant with some tables outside along the street.

We could not help but notice a small dog barking madly at a garage door next to us. A broom handle then appeared from under the door attempting to hit the distressed canine. A blow from a weapon like that to a dog of that size could seriously injure or possibly even kill it. My soon-to-be-wife pounded on the door demanding to talk to the person inside trying to hit the dog. When the door rolled open the dog scurried inside to a filthy little cardboard box at the back of the shop. Inside was one her puppies covered in oil, dirt, puss, and blood.

The two young men inside tried pleading innocence to my furious wife. They said the puppy was the shop owner's dog, and some lady had dropped it off that afternoon. They said the mother must have followed it to the garage and would not stop barking. We saw the puppy was in critical condition and it needed to see a vet, but they just shrugged their shoulders and said it was the owner's problem. We decided to take the dogs ourselves, and their weak efforts to stop us weren't enough. We were determined.

There were at least 100 people on the street watching this drama unfold but only my wife and I decided to put an end to the men's deplorable behavior.

I don't believe that all Chinese people are evil to animals but it seems that people don't have any sympathy for a dog or cat unless it's their own. Even my wife's parents looked at us like we were from some other planet when we brought the dogs home, and if it wasn't for the fact that I'm a foreigner, and foreigners are a little bit nuts anyway, they would never have let them in the house in the first place.

In fact, after I had left for Beijing with the puppy, her family complained that they didn't want our other dog in their apartment because she was filthy and its hair would infect their food. They wanted her to throw the dog back on the street. It got worse when one of her sister's kids stuck her fingers in the dog's mouth. When the dog scratched her in retaliation, she broke out in tears and complained the dog was attacking her. The dog was nearly crucified. Poor Sofie was just trying to protect herself. The dog didn't even break the skin of the little girl but they rushed her to the hospital for shots and sterilization. They accused my wife of caring more for Sofie than for the rest of the family. She had apparently endangered the lives of her entire household, just because she brought home a whimpering, abused dog.

I know that Chinese people love their dogs. I see it everyday when someone is out walking their dog or playing on small patch of grass with them. I believe they would try to move mountains to save their own pets, but I think many of these same people would hesitate to help an injured dog on the street. I don't think people are cowards; they feel an injured puppy is just not their problem. But not getting involved is even greater than just cruelty to animals. I've seen men slap their girlfriends in front of crowds in Beijing and no one says a word. I've seen a couple of guys beating up a third man as a crowd of people just stood and watched. Several of my colleagues told me they have seen someone get either their phone or wallet stolen in public but did not say anything to warn the victim. I have seen far, far more of the "It's none of my business" attitude in China than I have anywhere else I have lived.

We are busy people with busy lives, but unless we can show sympathy, courage, and decency towards others, including pets, then we are no better than animals, and perhaps even worse."

Probably....EVIL KUNTS!!!! rage rage rage rage

Wasnt saying that at all, but surely things we do are just as bad, force feeding ducks and geese to make nice liver pate, also veel.

Been to countries like hong kong and cuba were they have markets selling loads of animals in little shitty cages.
