... please pop out into your garden and have a look on your manager tree and tell me who you've picked to replace him?

Ta.

Good call.

After Ken Hodcroft has let you shit in his mouth he'll appoint Cooper as our manager.

You must be a bit thick. You never mentioned Hodcroft, you asked who 'you' would appoint. Work on you phraseology and question building. Hope that helps.

Turner isn't going to get sacked either, he's barely under pressure if his defeatist comments before and after games are anything to go by....

Sorry to correct you, but I asked who you would pick not who you would appoint.

Unless you're telling me that you're in a position to appoint our next manager?

So I picked. Whats your problem? It was a question requesting opinions wasn't it? I gave mine and you brought in a completely new aspect to the discussion. Had you phrased your question correctly you would have asked who I would choose subject to approval by KH. That being the case I would have concluded differently.

I won't retort to your pedantacy regarding pick/appoint.

You're accusing me of being pedantic?

Although personally I would be relatively happy to have Neale Cooper back as manager, a lot of people keep referring to Chris Turner's managerial record elsewhere and saying that means he shouldn't be our manager. How's Cooper's record since leaving Pools?

PS. For clarity, can we add the word "realistically" into the original post?

Good, right, who would you realistically pick to replace Turner?

John Still - a superb manager in the Gary Johnson mould. That is precisely the type of manager we need.
The Scots seem to produce loads of great managers, just because they've not been heard of by stuck-up English football fans, that doesn't mean they are not out there. Eg Gordon Chisholm. I refuse to believe there aren't any better managers in the non leagues and/or Scottish leagues who wouldn't do better than what we already have.

He cant be sacked as he is only the caretaker manager, unless somethings has been officially announced.

He is still a caretaker manager according to the league managers assoc too

Tell you what Mr Dibble, I will buy you a pint if Uncle Ken EVER appoints Neale Cooper as Pools manager again. I'll buy you one too Mr I. In fact I'll buy you two each.

So getting away from the unrealistic suggestions...

So you would sack the manager (while we're in midtable) without having any idea who you would get to replace him or of the calibre of the candidates who might apply? Genius. It's almost as plausible as the manager tree that some posters seem to think exists.

He wouldn't get sacked anyway. He'd go back to his old role.

This talk of there not being any good managers is a bit short sighted. Who had heard of Neale Cooper before he came. Loads of people were whinging about his appointment when it was made. How soon that changed!

I'm all for progress and am not convinced that CT is the answer in either the short or long term.

I would however prefer IOR to have a plan if they were to get a new manager. Maybe their plan IS to find us a new manager and CT is only temporary? Maybe the temporary role has lasted longer BECAUSE they can't find anybody who they deem suitable for the role and when they do he'll move back upstairs?

Just a bit of logical thought, sorry if it upsets anybody.
