Very sad news indeed!

Wasn't he in the town very recently?

I remember how much he loved the Centenary Celebrations at The Borough Hall and
think he stayed in the town all week with pitch appearances and regular visits to Millhouse Pub.

Tony Parry RIP

Just found out. Absolutely gutted.

RIP A True HUFC legend.

Hope the Club have a minute's silence/appreciation/applause tomorrow night before the Southampton game.

I'll always visualise him in that black and white picture of them training with what resembled a telegraph pole....blue skies, the lads laughing and they'll all have been earning in a week what the avarage Premiership 'player' tips his hairderesser......... I respected them lads, footy for the hell of it.
He's probably up there in promotion land for eternity, another local icon of my youth goes back down the tunnel for the last time.

I was shocked when I heard I only saw him at the Leyton Orient game a week Saturday ago having a pint and a sly fag around the back of the Cyril Knowles. Sad news seemed like a nice bloke and also from what I've heard a very good player for the club.

RIP Tony Parry.

Really sad when I read earlier today about your passing, and I couldn't share it with anyone else, as there aren't any other Poolies where I work, and it wouldn't have meant anything to all the glory supporters around me.

Always remember your goal against Bristol Rovers, in our first promotion season, I was behind the goal in the Town End, and the shot was coming straight at me, I'm sure I ducked, even though the net was always going to stop it.

RIP Tony.

edit: Just checked 'In The Mad Crowd', the goal was the season after promotion, during our stay of one season in Division 3.

very sad news. There'll be many Pools players passed away over the years but when it's a player who was part of one of the club's very few success stories, then he will always be remembered for his achievements - and even though it was before my time I am sure we all speak the same in that we are grateful to any player who brings us pride, and he did that.
