 Post subject: Lost/Stolen Mobile Phone!!!!
PostPosted: Wed Jan 17, 2007 11:14 pm
Another Mobile Story!!!!

We got the bairn a mobile for Christmas cos she'd been asking for one and plus all her friends have them!!!!
It was only £30 but she loved it!!!! :sweet:
Anyway she comes home from school tonight and asks to take it out with her while she takes the dog round the block because she was waiting for a text off her friend!!!!
I said ok but keep it in your pocket....it was the first time she'd took it out by herself*!!!!
(*The phone not the dog before you all start!!!!)

Anyway within 3 minutes she's back in the house....she said it had started to hoy down!!!!
As she was taking her jacket off she screamed....'My phone's gone....it's fell out of my pocket'!!!!
She was crying her eyes out!!!! confised
So me and her go straight out to see if we can see it on the floor....she'd only walked 60 metres max!!!!
Couldn't see it anywhere!!!! confised
Even went into the cornershop to ask if it had been handed in....no!!!! confised
We came home and she was crying her eyes out still and saying her mam would kill her for losing it etc!!!! confised
I said she wouldn't....it was only an accident etc etc!!!! confised

I sent a text using my phone asking if anyone found it could they bring it to 2 ....... Street etc or ring my phone.
No answer!!!!
When our lass came in she tried ringing it but it had been switched off!!!!
She kept trying and then it had been switched back on but they wouldn't answer!!!!
This had been going on for half the night so I sent the following text....

'Why not just pop the Phone through the letterbox? My 9 year old daughter got the phone for Christmas and is heartbroken. It's only a cheap phone and will be blocked on Friday anyway....so you might as well return it. Knock on the door and you'll get £10 or just put it through the letterbox. Thank you.'

Still no reply!!!!

I'm not bothered about the phone....the thing that gets me is that they now know it's a kids phone!!!!
Even by the style of it you can tell it's a kids phone!!!!
And it is going to be blocked!!!!

This Country!!!! rage

Maybe the phone is just fucked because it was lashing it down, if it was only £30 then it'll probably break quite easily?

We were back out the house within minutes and it wasn't on the floor!!!! confised

She'd only walked 60 metres max!!!! confised

Plus the phone has been switched off....on....off....on etc etc!!!! confised

Like I say....I'm not really bothered....1000's of phones get lost/stolen everyday!!!! confised

But I now understand how Mr.Gloves felt....the bairns face when she realised she'd lost it!!!! violin sad

However don't let my lack of a response stop you from posting another shire horse classic in the meantime.

Mutts, the irony is you don't post inane. Mr I is baiting for reasons only known to him.

FFS move on.

I am not baiting, I just thought that taking the piss out of a kid getting a christmas present stolen was not a good subject for a joke. I'm being entirely serious.

I do agree though, move on.

Mr I, my last words on the subject also.

For clarity, my post wasn't taking the pizz out of a kid who lost a phone, it was taking the pizz out of the "garbled email" messageboard topic and originator.

It may have missed the mark in some quarters, but that's all it was.

Just had a knock on the door!!!!
Opened the door and a young Asian lad was stood there with a file and notebook etc in his hands!!!!
Here we go I thought....he'll be selling something!!!!

'What street is this'? he asks!!!!

'Blah blah' says I!!!!

'Have you lost something'?

'errr yes a mobile phone'!!!!

Then he asks what type and colour etc!!!!

I tell him!!!!

He produces the phone out of his pocket and pointed to where he found it....barely 1o metres from our front door!!!!

He then goes all apologetic....saying 'I'm very sorry I'm late....I've been to College....I couldn't find the street....I'm new here I'm from Pakistan'!!!!

I tell him not to worry etc and thank him for the phone and I tell him the Bairn will be overjoyed when she gets home from school!!!! :sweet:

I've took his name and address and I will be taking the bairn round with a thank-you card with £10 in it!!!!

I'm over the moon and I can't wait to see the bairns face when she gets in!!!! :sweet:  :sweet:

I'll also be sending a letter of thanks into The Mail!!!!

Thank you very much Mudassar Hassan of Tankerville Street!!!!

Rather than the £10 reward why not offer to pay for a home ticket to the next Pools home match (if he isn't already Poolie), may introduce a new member to that wonderful experience that is Hartlepool United. Especially as ethnic minorities are sadly under represented in football. Just a thought.

I didn't NEED any of the above....but it was what I was into in 1980!!!! :sweet:

My Aunty Dot lived in Tankerville Street, number 10.

That's not Mudassar's address is it?? That would be too spooky.

But yes, heartwarming to think he took the trouble on such a shitty day to seek you out and return it for your nipper. What a nice kid. rolf clappp

Having not been online for 3 days, I have just read this thread through from start to finish. Going from deep sadness to great joy in 5 minutes. The majority of people still are honest, as has been shown by Mudassar, but unfortunately junior ADG has had to suffer at the hands of one of the moronic minority.

Hope your young Lady has a great day on Monday.
