Hughton named as manager until the end of 2010/2011 and the best bit....

Mike Ashley has taken the club off the for sale list!! He's staying!!

They'll be jumping into the Tyne, I think he should bring back Dennis Wise to cap it off.

He's decided not to sell something that no-one wants to buy.

He may have taken the club off the market but if someone came in with a good deal he would sell.

I'm hearing thick Geordies on the radio call him a 'Bond Villian' and a 'Mackem'.

He was never going to sell Newcastle as a Championship club as he's not going to get anywhere near what he wants to recoup when they are playing at that level. If he sold them in the Championship nobody is going to pay much when they also have a £40,00,000 overdraft with the bank. In the Premiership that overdraft is cancelled out by the TV money, in the Championship that becomes another cost and burden to the new owner after he's paid Ashley's asking price.

He is desperate that they go up then he'll sell them on, if they don't go up he stands to lose hundreds of millions of pounds. It is not in his interests to be a 'Bond Villian' or a 'Mackem' unless he's in the business of financially ruining himself and the thick not nice people can't see it.

It has been said that Shearer priced himself out of the job at Newcastle so, I can't see Mr Hodcroft paying well over the odds for him.
