So, this EPP?

What's it's manifesto?

If you don't agree with our ideals we'll stop you from being able to vote?

Is that not a little totalitarian? sctatchinghead

Thank you for raising these points, my friend.

There are several possible responses. One is that parties won't exist, to be voted for or otherwise. There will be only candidates for this or that post. Minister of Culture, Chancellor and so on. Each prospective candidate will first have to prove a degree of expertness in her/his field and also provide evidence that her/his manifesto will be of benefit on the greatest good of the greatest number of people principle.

Another possibility is that ADG and I will take up residence in a well-appointed Government flat and simply make all the rules for the rest of you.

If it was up to me I would make voting compulsory.

But I would give the option on a voting form to tick 'None of the above'.

I will go to the polling booth in the next election, but I am probably going to spoil my paper to register a protest.

I don't think any of the three main parties are worth a vote, and voting for the fringe parties/independents is pointless.

The biggest voter turnout is always in the country with just one candidate....
