I have been watching it and have enjoyed it so far, I hope they don't try and drag it out like they did with Lost just because it gets popular

When I said "believe in", I meant you could believe that a story like that could really mean something.

I don't normally like Sci-Fi anyway because in the past I've found the plots to unbelievable in some books and series etc.

So you don't think the whole world having a 6 minute (or whatever) blackout, and suddenly see into their futures, is a little far fetched?

Is "believing" an essential part of enjoying sci-fi? If sci-fi was believeable, it wouldn't be science fiction.

No, I don't think so. I think the show is a metaphor for something far deeper, to try and prove a point, because it's an American show in 2009.

The blackout = 9/11 and global terrorism - I think there are a couple of references to 9/11 when the blackout first happens and the ensuing chaos and they show pictures of terrified people in the clouds of smoke that rise from it a la 9/11.

Visions = what will the future be like for people after this decade etc.
