Is Chubby, bumming Humps and Sweeney, as no matter how bad/average they perform and no matter how little impact they are having on the teams performance, they walk straight into the starting 11 banghead banghead rage Lets start with Mr Humphries. Over the last couple of seasons he has been deployed as Left back, this was really because he wasn't considered good enough to play in our Midfield at that time, and being a left sided player, it was natural to try and slot him into a problem position of ours at the time, he fulfilled this role with mixed results, but worked hard and made the position his own and evaded too much critiscm when it was flying around because he usually did a steady job. I dont know what has been decided at the club but it seems he is no longer going to be used at Left back, thats fine, as the club have signed a lad for that position, who may turn out to be a decent player. But, and this is what bothers me, why oh why has Turner decided that he is now the answer to our problems in the middle of the park sctatchinghead Simply put, he isn't. Not a great tackler, no pace, passing generally leaves a lot to be desired, has had little impact on the game in the centre. The teams record since he moved into that position reads W1 L2 D2 and includes a few desperate games from our midfield. But he will be in the 11 against Swindon next Saturday, that is almost gauranteed sctatchinghead banghead
Sweeney, as far as I have seen has not had a particularly good game all season and has been noticeably poor on lots of occasions, what odds he starts next Saturday? short id say. How has he escaped the constant reshuffling in the quest to find the right blend in the centre of the park, whilst Jones has seemingly been cast aside and even failed to get a run out in the JP game the other night.
Now it is time for a change, things need to be shaken up, crowds are dwindling, a trip to the vic a cake walk for opposing teams refred and we are hovering at the wrong end of the table
It is not as if we dont have alternatives to try out, the lad Fredrickson surely deserves more of a chance than he has been given so far, maybe start Cherel in defence allowing Liddle to play in the middle of the park, alongside fredrickson maybe, or alongside Jones or Rowell. What about putting Monkhouse on the right, where we know he can play, and fredrickson on the left wing, with Liddle and jones or Rowell in the centre......Im not sure but what we are trying at the minute is not working and as it is I can only see a long winter ahead. I for one have had enough and will be staying away unless the side is changed. bbolt

Yes the full team is a shambles. But Tuesday and Yesterday Humphs was woeful. There was an instance in the second half where he lost the ball on the edge of our box and their lad shot over the bar I think it was.

To balance the "Humphs Bashing" up a bit, I thought he had an excellent game in there Vs Walsall. I have to agree with the original poster though, Richie Jones should be in there instead of Humphs or Sweeney, I'm not too bothered just as long as he is in there. At least he battles and gets amongst them. I'd leave the wingers as they are, But we are crying out for a midfielder who puts his foot in and can also play the odd killer pass and neither Humphs, Sweeney, Jones or Fredriksen can do that often enough. Actually to be fair to Fredriksen we havent seen enough of him to comment there, He does deserve a chance and Tuesday night Vs Grimsby shudda been it

Out after the game last night and about 10 people asked that.

Humphreys has compromising pictures of someone in authority, of that I'm certain. Take that much heralded run in the team people go on about; for a fair proportion of that he was awful but because the team sheets had been printed with his name already there he got a game. And so he got invited to Buckingham Palace. So what? They let anyone in these days.

As a left back he's league 2 at best.
As a midfielder he's league 2 at best.

He's been past his best since the promotion season, we have better people in both positions, why he gets a game completely bemuses me.

That's what I dislike about message boards, people who change their mind at a drop of a hat. Do you like Humphreys or not? A win next week and I predict you'll be yet again, waxing lyrical about the lad.

Ok I admit it, if blue tack hadn't been invented my bedroom wall would be a right mess with the times those posters have come down only to go back up again.

How about the theory that keeping a bit of a settled team might help them get better rather than chopping and changing every week for the fk of it?

Or is that too simple for some folk to comprehend?

And as for taking Liddle out of a defence that is performing well to put him in a position where he was dire last season? stpid stpid

Personally I'd like to see Jones in the team too, in the centre of midfield. Sweeney has done nowt of real note this season so put Jones in with Humphreys for a few games and see if that works.

Fredriksen is a winger. He was clearly a winger playing in the middle when I saw him at the start of the season and he shouldn't be shoved back in there as some sort of panic measure.

Behan is too inconsistent, Bjornsson needs time to adjust by playing as a sub and we have two excellent strikers in Brown and Boyd who should be given a run up front together to see if they can make it work. Leave the big targetman as a bench option rather than starting with it.
