Strictly Come Dancing attracts something in between eight to 12 million viewers each week. How many people complained about Du Beck's comment? 487!

The BBC put on their PC high horse costume, the spin machine goes into overdrive, and all of a sudden it's a major national scandal. All because, OO, our colleagues in the national press want you to think it's important.

In the end, who cares? And as I always say ... if you can call a person from Afghanistan, an Afghani, and a person from Uzbeckistan, Uzbecki, why not a person from Pakistan? :roll:

And as for whiteys dressing up as niggers, I do it each day to take advantage of the $1.25 bus fares to work. :uhoh:

These people who complain always get me. What exactly are these 487 people complaining about in this instance? How have they possibly been offended by this incident?

It's not as if during the live show after they'd finished dancing he came out and said "what the fuck was that you big daft Paki" is it!? He made a comment off camera weeks ago that has now came to light, so how the hell could anyone who wasn't in the room or wasn't the girl the comment was aimed at possibly be offended?? It's only a four letter word. Get a life springs to mind.

all his jokes involve him speaking in a stupid jamacian accent impersinating his mother, or talking in a stupid dudley accent.

They only other person I can think of today who does this is that black women who is sometime on mock the week and is about as funny as tooth ache.

I will say this until i'm blue in the face but if people dont like whats on telly then just flipping turn it off or turn it over.

There are a lot of things in this world we could all be offended with, but we just keep away from, so why if people are offended by tv do they continue to watch it?

them 487 people are some of the saddest people alive, who would think right, i will complain over this, pass that phone, i'm livid!!

I agree its a storm in a teacup re-that Du beck gadgie, but I disagree with the reasoning that calling someone an Uzbecki or an Aussie or whatever is in anyway the same as calling someone a Paki. Its all about context. Paki is nearly always used as a nasty rascist term of abuse, usually to anyone who has brown skin, regardless of where they are from.
Whereas other name's like brit, afghani, jock etc are generally used in a jocular, bantering way.

I see where you're comin from but I'll stand by my reasoning. An Afghani is a citizen of Afghanistan, it's not a jocular term, neither is Uzbecki. I take your point about the abusive P word, but a Paki (non abusive) is someone from Pakistan. It's as plain as that.

I also wouldn't recommend going into a Glasgow Eastend bat and using the word "jock". Weeggies don't like being called "sweaties". :wink:
