As people keep telling us; last season and this are different teams and apparently this years is much much better.

Last season Turner had 26 league games of which we won 6. This term after 10 games we've managed to put 3 wins together. The really bad news is that Wilson outperformed Turner in both ratios.

Last season
Wilson won 7 of 20 games. (35%)
Turner won 6 of 26. (23%)
This season
Turner 3 of 10 (30%)

In terms of points per game
Last season
Wilson 1.3
Turner 0.92
This season
Turner 1.2

Defensively we're an average of 0.5 of a goal per game better. This season we've conceded 11 goals so far, by this time last season we had let in 16.

The good news is that a 1.2 PPG average keeps us in this division and a lot of the players need to be slotted in properly yet. The downside is that when you look at the goals scored stats theres a big downward trend. This can of course be explained in one word - PORTER.

One thing you just can't get away from is that Wilson's results outperformed both last season and this up to now and that is without having the access to funding that CT seems to have.

we can't blame turner for porter, he wanted to go, he's tried to replace him, boyd, bjorn, larkin, behan etc etc

Like they say to me when I undress at the doctors 'that's a very small sample'.

To work out an average based on ten games is not very fair when most of us looked at the fixtures and thought we would come out of the first 5 games with 1 or 2 points. Lots of hard games are done. It's a very new team. The current averagle would get us about 54 points which would be enough to be safe.

That's the thing with such a small sample - one win on Friday and 1.2 becomes 1.5 and a whole load more impressive.

I think we've got to look at the bigger picture.

The stats aren't great but in the middle of all of that we've had a huge turnover of players, so it could take time to click. We might just not be good enough and Turner might not be good enough but he's not going to get sacked. So the stupid kids singing "Turner Out" in the Town End were not only embarrassing themsleves and (yet again) making us all cringe but wasting their breaths.

I'm not convinced and I'm not too downhearted, lets just wait and see.

Where do you get 1.5 from?

Currently is 12 points from 10 games

A win on Friday would make it 15 from 11 (1.36)
A loss on Friday would make it 12 from 11 (1.09)

I blame Mad John, he hasn't updated his site rage

You're right thought it makes the figures even worse.

Currently 3 of 11 1.09 points per game
1.09 x 46 games = 50.18

The same as last season overall then, less goals scored and less goals conceded.

but it will be 15 from 12 if we win. Which will be 1.25.

Which would give us 57 points at the end of the season.

see being a smart arse doesnt suit you (because you aint smart sonny  )
What pde was saying is Mr I was basing this seasons form on 10 games when both Turners & Wilsons form of last season was taken over a longer period. The larger the picture the more clear it becomes.

Turner could win his next 3 games and his record would instantly be much better because of it.

This post should be attached to the top of the page, and if pools win the next 3, parmo should sit in the centre circle of the vic, table, chair, plate, knife and fork, and eat his pools scarf.

Can this be arranged? bunker power?
