Does anyone know how I can get to see iPlayer while I'm over here? I seem to remember a website that 'hides' the ip address, but cannot remember it...

Thanks in advance

you need to get a proxy server .. I'm sure MrBCribbens would be able to help (I'd love it if someone would put a "how to" on her as I'd like to do it as well!)

As far as i know just using a proxy on its own with IE never seemed to work for me i use foxy proxy and firefox browser details below
You will still need to find your own uk proxy server, do a search on google theres lots out there

I don't know how you do the proxy stuff, but there's a website called filmon.com where you can watch the main UK channels live in HD once you've downloaded the software. It's not bad.

Edit: .com! stpid

Ok for the people who cant figure out the whole proxy thing here is an option for watching bbc live
This streams the channels as there being broadcast. So if you abroad take in account the time difference.
Firstly you must load VLC player to the default locations in other words install it without changing anything just keep hitting next.
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Once thats installed now go ahead and download the tv app here
https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1808775/britishtv-windows.zip

This can be saved anywhere on your computer once done uzip and you will have a union jack icon double click and you will be presented with a list of about 40 channels (not all will work all the time but it does seem bbc and itv are always on eurosport is a bit hit and miss)
Choose which channel and it should automatically start playing.
Hopefully even the ones from the headland should be able to work this one out.

Admins if this needs to be moved to the tech stuff go ahead.

All the channels on there are just freeview channels, you can get freeview boxes for about 20 quid, Mutt.

What Is TVCatchup?
TVCatchup is a new service which lets you watch UK television online for free.

The service is available only to users located within the United Kingdom

W@nkers you'll need one of those poxy servers to get it outside the UK!

I signed up to tvcatchup a while ago, and have watched programmes online. But I've never understood the name, because you can only watch TV that is going out at the same time, unless I'm missing something!!

Just tried the one that Mr Cribbens suggested for the hard of thinking and it works a treat. Thanks very much.
