'Punching above their weight'.... how I hate and detest that condescending phrase. What it really means is 'how dare they'. It's a nasty little put down of a phrase, that's used to look sneeringly down on the achievements of the unfashionable clubs and is the equivalent of a dismissive wave of the hand against a club like Pools achievements. a way of saying it can't last, a flash in the pan .... failure is inevitable, know your place.
